  • Patent number: 10807792
Abstract: A bulk storage bin is provided for grain and particulate material and includes a hopper bottom formed by a plurality of trapezoidal panels, each having upper and lower edges and opposite side edges. Flanges extend outwardly along each edge of each panel to provide a bolted flanged joint for adjacent panels. Plate assemblies extend along the upper edge of each panel to form a continuous 360° compression ring when the panels are assembled. Each flange has a portion extending behind the plate assemblies, with interior bolt holes. An access hole is provided at each end of each plate assembly for access to the interior bolt holes.

  • Publication number: 20080106110
Abstract: A glove box assembly incorporated into a vehicle instrument panel, along which extends a reinforcing bar. A three-dimensional and interiorly open receptacle is fixedly mounted within the instrument panel. The receptacle includes integrally formed structural projections extending from a rear side thereof and in a direction towards the reinforcing bar. A plurality of ribs are attached to the receptacle proximate the projections and in order to adjust a deformation characteristic of the receptacle. A bin secures within said glove box receptacle and includes a door exposed to adjoining surfaces of the instrument panel. Upon experiencing a collision event resulting in a passenger's knees impacting the door, inward deformation of the receptacle transfers forces both to the instrument panel and through deforming the reinforcing bar.

  • Publication number: 20070182186
Abstract: A glove box assembly for a vehicle includes a box member that is adapted to fit in an opening of the vehicle. The box member includes front and rear surfaces with the rear surface including a guide surface formed thereon. The box member includes at least one latch slot formed therein. A door member having front and rear surfaces is hingedly attached to the box member. The door member includes at least one latch member extending rearward from the rear surface of the door member. The at least one latch member is movable in and out of the at least one latch slot formed in the box member. A slide member extends from a first end to a second end and includes front and rear surfaces. The front surface of the slide member is disposed proximate the guide surface such that the slide member is operative to move laterally relative to the guide surface. The slide member includes at least one pocket formed therein.

  • Publication number: 20070182188
Abstract: A glove box assembly for a vehicle includes a box member that is adapted to fit in an opening of the vehicle. The box member includes front and rear surfaces with the rear surface including a guide surface formed thereon. The box member also includes a recessed portion that extends toward the direction of the rear surface defining a storage space. A pair of tabs spaced laterally relative to each other extends downward from the recessed portion and rearward of the guide surface. A slide member extends from a first end to a second end and includes front and rear surfaces. The front surface of the slide member is disposed proximate the guide surface such that the slide member is operative to move laterally relative to the guide surface. The slide member includes a tapered portion that is sized to pass without interference with the pair of tabs when the slide member is positioned in an installation position.

  • Publication number: 20070182189
Abstract: A glove box assembly incorporated into a vehicle instrument panel, along which extends a reinforcing bar. The assembly includes a three-dimensional and interiorly open receptacle fixedly mounted within the instrument panel. The receptacle includes one or more integrally formed structural projections extending from a rear side thereof and in a direction towards the reinforcing bar, typically spaced a slight distance from the receptacle structure.

  • Publication number: 20070182145
Abstract: A glove box assembly exhibiting controlled deformation characteristics and including a three-dimensional and volume holding bin. A door includes an inner panel incorporating a variety of stiffening and supporting ribs projecting in a substantially grid-shaped fashion and along specified areas of the inner panel associated with an occupant knee impact zone. Additional uninterrupted surfaces are separated by the ribs and create softer hand impact zones. An outer panel substantially matches the inner panel in overall configuration and, upon being vibrationally welded to the inner panel along selected ribs, exhibits an exposed face defining the knee and hand impact zones when the glove box assembly is recess mounted within a vehicle dashboard.
