  • Publication number: 20240090772
Abstract: An intraoral device (100) for determining oral health characteristics is provided. The device includes a light source (106) configured to emit light in a plurality of wavelengths within or about the oral cavity and a matrix array multispectral sensor (102) configured to detect a plurality of spectral channels of a spectral image. Each of the plurality of spectral channels may allow transmission of a corresponding wavelength. The device may include a processor (1100) configured to identify the detected plurality of spectral channels of the spectral image relating to the oral cavity. Based on the detected plurality of spectral channels, the processor may cause the light source to adjust the light emitted within or about the oral cavity to modify a signal to noise ratio and/or an image calibration of a subsequent spectral image. The matrix array multispectral sensor may capture the subsequent spectral image relating the oral cavity in the adjusted emitted light.

  • Publication number: 20230354993
Abstract: In one embodiment, an oral care system is disclosed that includes an oral care device and at least one programmable processor. The oral care device includes a head having a reference face, a light source, at least one orientation sensor generating orientation data corresponding to orientation measurements of the reference face during a freeform oral care routine, and at least one optical sensor generating optical sensor data representing optical feedback resulting from the light from the light source being incident upon sections of the oral cavity. The processor, based on the orientation data, determines which optical sensor data corresponds with which of the sections of the oral cavity. For each section of the oral cavity, based on the corresponding optical sensor data, the processor determines an oral care characteristic.

  • Publication number: 20230088940
Abstract: An oral care system including an oral care device and a processor. The oral care device includes a head having cleaning elements and a vibrational sensor configured to determine vibrational data emitted by the oral care device in use. The processor is operably coupled to the vibrational sensor and is configured to: determine, based on the vibrational data, an applied pressure of the cleaning elements upon an oral cavity of a user; determine an optimal pressure associated with the oral cavity of the user and a non-optimal pressure associated with the oral cavity of the user; and based on the applied pressure of the cleaning elements upon the oral cavity being substantially the non-optimal pressure, cause the applied pressure of the cleaning elements upon the oral cavity to be substantially the optimal pressure.

  • Publication number: 20220240786
Abstract: An imaging system, device, and method for diagnosing tissue is provided. The system may include one or more light sources (e.g., LEDs) configured to project light in a plurality of wavelengths. A time-of-flight module may be configured to project a modulated light, receive a reflected portion of the modulated light, and/or generate a three-dimensional time-of-flight image based on the received reflected portion of the modulated light. A multispectral camera may be configured to receive a reflected portion of the light and generate a multispectral image based on the received reflected portion of the light. A processor may be configured to identify the time-of-flight image and the multispectral image; generate a data matrix based on combining one or more portions of the time-of-flight image and the multispectral image; and cause the data matrix to be displayed as a three-dimensional image.
