The first device(s) provide phase correcting information, to be used in calibration of the multi-antenna array, based on covariances corresponding to recurrent displacement vectors of the multi-antenna array. Said covariances being based on channel estimates estimated from certain radio signals received after transmission over radio propagation channels between said multi-antenna array of the first antenna device and one or more second antenna devices operative with the wireless communication network.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 7, 2020Publication date: September 28, 2023Inventors: Henrik Asplund, Martin Johansson, David Astely, Karl Werner, Benny Lennartson

Publication number: 20230023283Abstract: Systems and methods for identifying Passive Intermodulation (PIM) products are disclosed. Some embodiments use RAN Performance Measurement (PM) counters, of actual DL Traffic Load to correlate with UL noise and interference counters. By using counters, the DL traffic is correlated to the increase in noise and interference in order to determine which DL carrier combinations are causing degradation to which UL carriers. In this way, aggressor-victim grouping can be identified through normal downlink traffic load with uplink interference to identify passive intermodulation products. This can be done for all aggressor-victim groups within a radio base station site or cluster of sites. Also, some embodiments enable estimating the maximum PIM interference created by the aggressor carriers. This helps operators to quantify the impact of PIM and can enable them to take counter measures. These embodiments are Radio Access Technology (RAT) agnostic and operator agnostic for the aggressors within a site.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 23, 2020Publication date: January 26, 2023Inventors: Benny Lennartson, Mats Blomgren, Jin Ellgardt, Erik Nilsson

Patent number: 8811928Abstract: The invention discloses a method (700) for finding differences in path loss between a plurality of RF paths between a first (120, 130) and a second (120, 130) transceiver in a wireless communications system (100). During defined 5 intervals of time (SACCH1-SACCH4), only one RF path is used to transmit from one of said transceivers to the other of said transceivers, and the receiving transceiver measures the strength of the signal received during at least a number of said intervals, thus making it possible to compare signal strength and thereby path loss between different RF paths, which in turn 10 makes it possible to find imperfections in one or more of said RF paths.Type: GrantFiled: March 26, 2007Date of Patent: August 19, 2014Assignee: Telefonaktiebolaget L M Ericsson (publ)Inventors: Benny Lennartson, Lars Boncz

Patent number: 8760993Abstract: In a method and a transmitter data is transmitted to two mobile stations sharing the same frequency band and the same timeslot. The data is modulated using a quaternary symbol constellation. Further, the data is transmitted to two mobile stations multiplexed on a shared channel comprising two branches and the transmission power for the transmitted data is set in response to the relative gain of the two branches. Hereby, the total system interference is reduced. The method and transmitter further allows for a cellular radio system individual power control loops for the two sub-channels when the system uses MUROS.Type: GrantFiled: October 29, 2008Date of Patent: June 24, 2014Assignee: Telefonaktiebolaget L M Ericsson (Publ)Inventors: Miguel Lopez, Tomas Andersson, Benny Lennartson

Patent number: 8547842Abstract: In a method and a device for controlling the output power in a Base Transceiver Station adapted to transmit signals over an air interface using a power amplifier for multiple earners, the power of signals to be transmitted in an upcoming transmission time slot are added and compared to at least one threshold value. If the threshold is exceeded the output power is reduced. By implementing a power reduction scheme as set out above the risk for peak power effects is minimized at the same time as the dimensioning may be aggressive. This is made possible because no power will be backed off unless really needed.Type: GrantFiled: September 11, 2009Date of Patent: October 1, 2013Assignee: Telefonaktiebolaget LM Ericsson (publ)Inventors: Sofia Svedevall, Benny Lennartson, Torsten Lind

Publication number: 20130163443Abstract: A network performs blind detection of the VAMOS capability, at or above a predetermined SCPIR level, of mobile stations. The network transmits an AQPSK modulated message having a predetermined SCPIR level on a control channel or non-traffic portion of a traffic channel, and monitors the mobile station for an anticipated action taken in response. In some embodiments, the AQPSK modulated message is repeated to increase the probability of its reception. In some embodiments, AQPSK modulated messages are transmitted at varying SCPIR levels, to determine a minimum SCPIR level at which the mobile terminal is operative in VAMOS mode. The VAMOS capability and SCPIR level of mobile stations may be recorded, so that they may later be paired for VAMOS operation.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 21, 2011Publication date: June 27, 2013Inventors: Olof Liberg, Benny Lennartson, Mårten Sundberg, Örjan Sjelvgren
