Abstract: A striker includes a striker pad, a wire, a securing element, and a deformable spacer. The securing element exerts a securing force. The spacer includes a first end that receives the securing force and a second end that contacts the vehicle body. The spacer creates a clearance between the striker pad and the vehicle body when a first torque value is applied to the securing element so that the striker pad is movable along a first axis through a force exerted by the latch of a vehicle door, the latch cooperating with the wire when closing the door. The spacer is configured to deform to allow contact between the striker pad and the vehicle body when a second torque value is applied to the securing element.
