  • Publication number: 20110210634
Abstract: A direct-current rotating electrical machine, in particular for a motor vehicle starter. The machine includes a stator comprising a magnetized structure with permanent magnetization, extending along a circumference of the stator, a rotor, and a group of brushes arranged to allow the electrical supply of the rotor by switching the electrical current in sections of the rotor. The magnetized structure of the machine includes a plurality of main magnets and a plurality of auxiliary magnets, each arranged between two main magnets. The auxiliary magnets have a smaller angular extent and/or radial thickness than the main magnets. The magnetization vector in at least one of the main and auxiliary magnets varies continuously or in steps, at least locally taking a direction other than radial and orthoradial directions.

  • Publication number: 20100176677
Abstract: A DC electric rotating machine, such as a starter of an automotive vehicle, includes a stator with salient poles having at least four poles distributed uniformly over the circumference of the stator, a rotor disposed inside the stator, a set of brushes adapted for the electric supply of the rotor, and at least two geometrically opposed salient poles. Each pole includes at least one substantially radial slot in a plane parallel to the axis of rotation of the rotor and preferably passes through the axis of the rotor. By minimizing the reaction fields of the armature, utilization of the magnetic material of the parts of the stator is balanced and a harmful armature reaction effect, which increases saturation of the polar parts of the inductor and which leads to reduction in the driving magnetic torque, is mitigated.

  • Publication number: 20100176675
Abstract: A DC electric rotating machine, mainly for the starter of an automotive vehicle. The machine includes a stator including a wound structure forming a plurality of poles extending along the circumference of the stator, a rotor, and a set of brushes adapted for the electric supply of the rotor by commutation of the electric current in sections of the rotor. The wound structure of the stator includes a plurality of slots between two central parts of consecutive poles of the stator, these slots being formed in a magnetic body of the stator. At least one of the slots including at least one conducting segment forming a winding of an electrical coil.

  • Publication number: 20100127590
Abstract: A DC electric rotating machine mainly for the starter of an automotive vehicle, including: a stator having a magnetised structure with permanent magnetisation and extending along the circumference of the stator; a rotor; a set of brushes adapted for the electric supply of the rotor by switching the electrical current in sections of the rotor; wherein the magnetised structure (5) of the stator includes at least one sector, between two consecutive magnetic poles (N; S) of the magnetised structure, having a magnetisation vector that varies in an essentially sinusoidal manner upon displacement on the stator circumference, and wherein the angular deviation of the neutral line is selected so as to improve the switching during the operation of the machine.

  • Publication number: 20100031911
Abstract: A method and a device for starting a diesel engine with no heater plugs, comprising pistons and cylinders defining combustion chambers into which gases intended to participate in combustion are admitted, in which method a strategy is adopted whereby the gases present in the chambers are heated up in such a way as to raise them to a minimum temperature within the entire volume defined by the chambers when the pistons are in the position of maximum compression or close to that position. The gases are heated by compressing the air in the cylinders using an electrical machine, or using a heating system in the intake.
