  • Patent number: 11351288
Abstract: An artificial ligament prosthesis which is notable in that it comprises a layer totally or partly consisting of PCL fibres. The ligament prosthesis is a biodegradable and “biointegrable” artificial ligament which makes it possible to take away all the apprehensions and uncertainties due to non-degradable synthetic supports. It is a prosthetic structure inspired by and similar to the native tissue, which is biodegradable while being sterilisable. It can optionally be seeded in order to facilitate the formation of functional tissues with controlled cell and tissue activity, having the required mechanical properties. The prosthesis maybe slowly resorbable in order to be gradually replaced with a functional tissue identical to that of the native ligament.

  • Publication number: 20180161045
Abstract: A surgical cutter intended in particular for the prosthetic replacement of a knee ligament and comprising a blade-holder tube provided with a handle at one of its ends, a blade of generally rectangular shape mounted pivotably, at the other end of said blade-holder tube, about a rotation axis perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the latter between a “retracted” position, in which it does not protrude from the body of said blade-holder tube, and a “deployed” position, in which it extends on each side of said blade-holder tube, and a locking mechanism for locking said blade in the “retracted” position or “deployed” position.

  • Publication number: 20120253461
Abstract: A prosthetic ligament for replacing a natural articular ligament, comprising a first intraosseous end part, called the tibial end part, and a second intraosseous end part, called the femoral end part, the two intraosseous end parts surrounding an intraarticular central part, characterized in that the first intraosseous end part is in the form of two cylindrical strands, and in that the second intraosseous end part forms a loop connected to the first intraosseous end part via the intraarticular central part, which is composed of at least two bundles of technical filaments, each of the bundles being connected to the first intraosseous end part at one end of its ends and to the second intraosseous end part at the other of its ends.

  • Patent number: 7700147
Abstract: Biomimetic artificial prostheses which are made from polyester, such as polyethylene terephthalate, and a method for the biomimetic functionalization of such prostheses. The method includes a step involving the grafting of biologically-active polymers or copolymers to the polyester surface of the prostheses, the grafting step consisting of the peroxidation of the surface by ozonation followed by a step including the radical polymerization of a solution of at least one monomer. The method also includes an optional step consisting in impregnating the prostheses with type I and/or II collagen and/or fibronectins. The prostheses thus obtained enable a normal and uniform regrowth of the fibroblasts, thereby significantly improving the biological integration of such polyester prostheses.

  • Patent number: 7494506
Abstract: Method for production of a prosthetic ligament (1), for the replacement of a natural joint ligament, having a global cylindrical form and including a medial intra-articular section (3) between two intra-osseous end parts (2). The method includes a step of the rolling or folding on itself of a web of synthetic polymer fibers, followed by a step of installation of a traction thread (5) to each of the ends (4) of the ligament (1), then a step of placing a tip (6) on the ends (5), characterized in that the placing of the tip (6) includes producing a radial ligature (60) of the ligament (1) provided with the traction threads (5), by of a ligature thread (7).

  • Patent number: 6866681
Abstract: A prosthetic ligament and its method of manufacture is provided by which the prosthetic ligament is comprised of a plurality of strands aligned in a parallel lengthwise relationship to form a bundle, with the strands being interwoven at their respective ends while the middle portion of the strands remain unattached to adjacent strands. A predetermined torsion is applied to each strand prior to forming the bundle to create natural coiling in either a clockwise or counter-clockwise orientation. The prosthetic ligament may be used for a posterior or anterior cruciate ligament of the knee joint.

  • Publication number: 20010044659
Abstract: The invention concerns a method for manufacturing a prosthetic ligament for replacing a natural articular ligament, comprising between two and parts (2,2′) a median part (3) formed only by a skein of active yarn (4,11,12) advantageously in polyester, mono-filament or multi-filament with a yarn count not less than 100 decitex, longitudinal, adjacent and not transversely linked between them characterized in that previous to the mounting of the ligament (1) a longitudinal twist is given to each active yam, clockwise or anti-clockwise, for forming a prosthetic ligament (1) for right articulation and left articulation respectively, the ends of said yarn (4,11,12) being maintained together by all appropriate means over a sufficient width for constituting the ends parts (2,2′) of said prosthetic ligament (1). The invention also concerns the left articulating or right articulating ligament thus obtained.
