  • Patent number: 8742734
Abstract: The invention relates to an active filter device for a power supply comprising a source having a source of current iS and a voltage VE, a power converter presenting an input inductor L, a power switch T controlled by a chopper signal and delivering an output voltage VS, and a load, the device being characterized in that it includes an active filter converter (10) for generating at its output a compensation current minus harmonics of the source current due to the chopping, in response to an input signal representative of the chopping of the power converter.

  • Patent number: 6777917
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method of and a system for charging at least one supercapacitor that is particularly suitable for balancing supercapacitors.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: June 17, 2002
Date of Patent: August 17, 2004
    Assignee: Alcatel
Inventors: Philippe Desprez, Gérard Barrailh, Pascal Lavaur, Stéphane Raël, Fadi Sharif, Bernard Davat
  • Patent number: 6664766
Abstract: The present invention relates to a supercapacitor balancing method including bypassing the current flowing in the supercapacitor from a predetermined threshold voltage at the terminals of the supercapacitor, the bypass current being a function of the voltage at the terminals of the supercapacitor and increasing continuously as a function of the voltage. The method is characterized in that the bypass current increases between the threshold voltage, for which the bypass current constitutes a minimum bypass current, and a reference voltage, for which the bypass current constitutes a nominal bypass current, and in that the difference between the reference voltage and the threshold voltage is less than 200 mV and the ratio between the nominal bypass current and the minimum bypass current is greater than 100.

Date of Patent: December 16, 2003
    Assignee: Alcatel
