  • Patent number: 6550228
Abstract: A device for the controlled admission of a noxious powder into a box which includes a body having an open lower part that terminates in a sealing skirt. The body is connected to a powder inlet pipe and to a gas extraction pipe. A movable valve is disposed in the body. The valve is controlled by a magnetic device, and cooperates with the sealing skirt. A housing is fixed on the lower part of the body. The housing is open in its central part to allow the passage of the box therethrough and comprises a retractable device which ensures grip and transfer of the lid of the box. The device also includes means for detecting the quantity of powder in the box, and at least one ventilation circuit ensuring, at the level of the circumference of the opening of said housing and/or at the level of the sealing skirt, evacuation towards a treatment unit of that part of the powder which might be located at those levels.

  • Patent number: 6511103
Abstract: The inventive device includes a cylindrical housing adapted to receive a filter, the housing having an axis being fixed at a second end to a ventilation circuit flange and having a first end mounted on a mobile companion flange, the companion flange being held in resilient manner under axial tension by holding means under tension, a sheath in alignment with and secured to the housing, about which sheath the companion flange slides axially, a seal disposed between the sheath and the companion flange, three fixed wheels secured to the sheath and projecting outwards therefrom; a cam surrounding the sheath over a certain length and made up of a ring having three ramps each in the form of a helical segment, the ramps receiving respective ones of the wheels, turning of the cam causing the companion flange to move in axial translation; and means for turning the cam. The invention is specially suited to filtering a ventilation circuit in a hostile environment in the nuclear industry.

  • Patent number: 6450680
Abstract: The powder mixing apparatus comprises a circular section cylindrical body having a longitudinal axis that is substantially horizontal, the body being leakproof and having two disk-shaped walls and an annular wall, the apparatus having a disk placed coaxially inside said body, the edge of said disk being substantially in contact with the annular wall so as to subdivide said body into two cylindrical compartments of substantially equal volume, said disk being provided on each of its faces with at least one blade for guiding said powder during rotation of said disk to a transfer orifice passing through said disk so as to enable at least a portion of the powder contained in one compartment to pass into the other compartment on each revolution of the disk, said blades being angularly offset, a horizontal drive shaft secured to the center of said disk serving to rotate said disk, and motor means serving to drive said drive shaft.

  • Patent number: 6450372
Abstract: A rotary powder dispenser disposed between a top inlet pipe and at least two bottom outlet pipes includes a casing (1) connected at its top to an inlet via which the flow of powder is taken in, and at its bottom to outlets via which the flow is delivered, the casing (1) being formed of a shell (2) and of a removable base (3); a rotary plug (8) that is disposed in the casing, that is of generally cylindrical shape, and that can turn about its own axis, the plug being provided with an internal duct (11) that slopes relative to its axis so as to enable the powder to flow through it under gravity, with a ring of gear teeth (12) that co-operates with a worm screw (12a) to rotate said plug, and with a cam (13) that co-operates with at least one pusher (14, 15) external to the plug to determine the exact position of the plug; and at least one sealing system (9, 10) disposed between the plug (8) and the casing (1).

  • Patent number: 6435706
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method of stirring a medium contained in a receptacle having at least one non-magnetic wall, the medium being stirred by means of a magnetic stirrer comprising a magnetic moving body placed in said medium on one side of said non-magnetic wall(s) and drive equipment for rotating said magnetic moving body disposed outside said medium on the other side of said non-magnetic wall. In characteristic manner, the method is implemented while continuously monitoring the magnitude of the magnetic attraction force between said magnetic object and the drive equipment therefor. The present invention also provides apparatus suitable for implementing said method.

  • Patent number: 6293316
Abstract: A method and apparatus for filling with powder a container having an interior and an opening to the interior that is closable by a lid. The method includes the steps of docking the opening in the container with a transfer apparatus including a powder-feed duct and dropping a coupling tube vertically downwardly through the duct to communicate with the interior of the container. The powder is passed vertically downwardly through said transfer apparatus downstream from the powder-feed duct through the coupling tube to said container, with the coupling tube serving to protect internal mechanical parts of said transfer apparatus. During the transfer, a low level of suction is maintained inside the transfer apparatus to avoid any accumulation of the powder and any release of the powder outside the apparatus.

  • Patent number: 5606205
Abstract: Induction module for an asynchronous linear electric motor comprising an outer protective shell (7) of parallelepipedic form, constituted by a rectangular horizontal bottom (4), two opposite vertical and longitudinal walls (5) and two opposite vertical and transverse walls (6). A laminated magnetic circuit is constituted by a bar (8), of generally parallelepipedic shape, of smaller length and smaller width than the inner length and width of the protective shell (7), extending along the longitudinal axis (xy) of the outer protective shell (7). This bar (8) has, in its upper part, a succession of transverse recesses (9) regularly spaced from one another in the longitudinal direction, opening out in the upper face (8b) and in the two vertical and longitudinal faces of the bar (8), delimiting therebetween teeth (11) constituting polar pieces.
