Abstract: A composition for the treatment or prevention of gastro-intestinal distress associates with the consumption of food products containing sugar alcohols includes at least one enzyme, at least one probiotic organism and simethicone. The composition may be consumed immediately prior to but not more than 20 minutes prior to consuming a sugar alcohol-containing food product in order to reduce the severity of at least one gastro-intestinal stress condition associated with sugar alcohol consumption by at least about 50%.
