  • Patent number: 4668872
Abstract: The inventive control system introduces the current (.DELTA.I) and voltage (.DELTA.C) deviations simultaneously with the injection set point (C) to define a new injection set point (C') that is utilized in conjunction with the measurement of diesel engine speed (V.sub.rD) to adjust the injection and with the measurement of the injection flow rate C.sub.r to adjust the generator excitation current.

  • Patent number: 4482813
Abstract: A regulator system for both the Diesel and the electric portions of a Diesel electric locomotive allowing more reliable operation at all locomotive speeds. Said regulator has a regulator to regulate the electric power by varying the excitation (43) of the main generator by means of orders coming from a driver control (1, 8) which set a reference current level and (17) a voltage reference level (19) for the main generator and a Diesel engine gas oil reference level (18). These levels are compared with measurements of true corresponding values (24, 30, 27) and orders (43) for increasing or decreasing excitation are delivered so that the excitation of the main generator remains inside the scope delimited by the various reference levels and a Diesel power regulator which sends out orders to increase or decrease the gas oil injection in accordance with a predetermined Diesel engine speed/injection law and in comparison with the true measurements of the injection and of the Diesel engine speed.

  • Patent number: 4246069
Abstract: A reactor vessel filled with coolant fluid is divided by a wall into an upper region and a lower region which contains the reactor core, part of the coolant fluid in the upper region being injected into the lower region. The injection flow rate is regulated as a function of the variations in pressure in the lower region by means of a baffle-plate container which communicates with a leak-tight chamber and with a storage reservoir, a flow of fluid from the chamber to the reservoir being established only at the time of a reduction in the rate of injection into the container. The reactor can be employed for the production of hot water which is passed through a heat exchanger and supplied to a heating installation.

  • Patent number: 4033814
Abstract: This invention relates to a thermogenic swimming-pool type nuclear reactor adapted to produce hot water for use in a heating installation. The reactor comprises a generally cylindrical enclosure open at the top and filled with a cooling liquid. The enclosure is divided by a horizontal partition and the bottom zone below the partition contains the reactor core and at least one heat exchanger and at least one venturi. The cooling liquid is circulated between the outlet and inlet of the core through the heat exchanger and the venturi. At least one conduit extends through the partition so that its top end discharges into the upper zone and its bottom end discharges into an aperture formed in the wall of the venturi at its neck.
