Abstract: The present invention provides a packaging system for products, in particular consumer products. The packaging system has a package member configured to receive products and the package member has an outwardly facing external side surface and an inwardly facing internal surface. In addition, the packaging system has a sheet component having a plurality of layers comprising an inner layer having an inner face and an outer face, the inner face being at least partially directly or indirectly connected the external side surface of the package member. The outer face is on the opposite side of the inner layer from the inner face. The sheet component also has an outer layer having a first side and an opposite second side wherein the second side faces away from the external side surface of the package member and the first side faces toward the external side surface of the package member. In addition the outer layer is removable from the inner layer and package member.

  • Publication number: 20070131342
Abstract: Methods of making, using and applying a composition to an exposed surface are disclosed using a disposable applicator. The method of making the disposable applicator includes forming a back sheet and a liquid permeable substrate. The substrate is secured to the back sheet and a composition is applied to the substrate. The composition is capable of being transferred onto an exposed surface by wiping the substrate against the exposed surface. A seal is formed on at least a portion of the back sheet. The back sheet is then folded upon itself such that the seal extends completely around the substrate to protect the composition. The methods of using and applying a composition to an exposed surface include breaking the seal and opening the back sheet, grasping the back sheet in one hand and wiping the substrate onto the exposed surface.

  • Publication number: 20060191357
Abstract: Novel methods for measuring the soothing attributes of personal care compositions are disclosed. The methods disclosed are particularly suitable for measuring and comparing the soothing attributes of facial tissue to determine which facial tissue is most soothing to damaged skin. The methods include damaging the skin of a test subject to a predetermined amount, contacting a test facial tissue with the damaged skin, and rating the soothing attributes of the facial tissue. In a preferred embodiment, the amount of skin damage on the skin is determined by the test subject.

  • Publication number: 20060142711
Abstract: A toilet training article in the form of a toilet training pad containing an effervescent agent is disclosed. The toilet training pad, which may be an insertable pad or integrated directly into an undergarment, contains an effervescent agent which releases gas upon being contacted by urine. The effervescent agent may be in the form of a compound containing a substantially inert gas, or may be a combination of compounds that, upon being contacted by urine, produce a gas.

  • Publication number: 20050201968
Abstract: Processes for preparing products comprising an oxygen-generating additive for reducing the amount of skin irritation and inflamation and odor are disclosed. Specifically, products such as training pants and diapers are disclosed which contain a carbohydrate-hydrogen peroxide crystalline powder which, when wetted, produces a stream of oxygen which can be used by various bacteria on and near the wearer's skin during metabolism resulting in a significant decrease in the amount of volatile organic compounds produced by the bacteria during metabolism.

  • Publication number: 20050118237
Abstract: Cleansing wipes comprising a film forming polymeric material and a cleansing agent stored in dry form are disclosed. The cleansing wipes are water disintegratable such that upon contact with water, the cleansing wipes release the cleansing agent and begin to dissolve/disperse into the water. Full dissolution/dispersion of the cleansing wipes occurs in about 60 seconds or less after contact with water to allow for a sufficient time for cleansing of the hands or other skin area.
