  • Patent number: 8837383
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method of generating a message by a station in a network in which stations 5 transmit by intervals (A) for reporting to other stations (B) of reservations of a medium in an interval, wherein the station: —generates a set (10) of reservation information elements (A.1-A.n) wherein each reservation information element (A.1-A.n) identifies one of said reservations in the interval; and —creates at least one message (21-24) containing reservation information elements (A.1-A.n); —transmits the message to other stations (B).

  • Patent number: 8687569
Abstract: A method of allocating frequency channels in a wireless communication system comprising common channel framework enabled stations, said method comprising: —using by said common channel framework enabled stations a common frequency channel at common time intervals in order to determine a communication frequency channel on which a pair of common channel framework enabled stations will be allowed to exchange data frames, —periodically changing the common frequency channel at the beginning of each common time interval.

  • Patent number: 8451782
Abstract: A wireless network (1) comprises mesh devices and non-mesh devices. A medium access control architecture incorporates at least a point coordination function as an access method, wherein the point coordination function starts a contention-free period (30) with a beacon (32) so that a non-polled transmission by the non-mesh devices is prevented. Further, the mesh devices are enable to communicate during the contention-free period (30). Hence, communication between the mesh devices is priorisized so that a high reliability is achieved and utilization of the wireless network (1) is optimized.

  • Patent number: 8331396
Abstract: A method of congestion management in a wireless mesh network in which the CSMA/CA algorithm is used to access wireless medium, said network comprising a first station and at least one neighboring station able to communicate directly with the first station, comprises: —broadcasting (22) an announcement message by the first station to the at least one neighboring station when the first station experiences a congestion in its environment, said announcement message comprising a congestion level parameter, —activating (26) by the neighboring station, at reception of the announcement message, a congestion state in which the minimum size of the time window, called contention window, to access the medium before transmission of a message is strictly greater than the minimum size (CWmin) defined in absence of congestion, said minimum size in congestion state being defined as a function of the congestion level parameter.

  • Publication number: 20110150004
Abstract: The present invention relates to a transmitting apparatus, a receiving apparatus, a system and a method of performing multi-user transmission to a plurality of other transmission ends (21-24), wherein a request for transmission is broadcast to said plurality of other transmission ends (21-24), and the request is provided with a Medium Access Control MAC frame which includes a list of at least two identifications of receiving ends which are requested to reply to the request.

  • Publication number: 20100190520
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method of reducing interference in a communication system supporting multiple radio channel communication scheme and wherein a communication link can be established between a transmitter and a receiver. In the method the transmitter first determines (301) interference level at the transmitter, and then based on the determined interference level, performs link adaptation, wherein the link adaptation comprises applying (307) channel bundling for adapting the communication link so as to transmit simultaneously on at least two radio channels from the transmitter to the receiver.
