  • Patent number: 7357091
Abstract: A self-repairing and unsinkable watercraft has the hull of the mid section of the craft covered by two moveable water impermeable sheaths. The sheaths rotate in opposite directions to temporarily seal a breach and to allow for better ease of permanent repair or replacement. In one preferred embodiment, the craft is fitted on each side with at least one pontoon-like sealed foam structure that is attached by moveable telescoping arms. Adjustment of the positions of these structures with arm movement provides for greater stability of the craft during various maneuvers, aids in keeping the craft upright, and adjusts for changes in buoyancy and lift as needed. When additional stability is wanted, the craft contains a layer of sealed foam beneath the main deck at or above the waterline and from one to three submerged cylinders that are opened or closed to the water at both ends as needed.

  • Patent number: 6122889
Abstract: The present invention describes a lightweight, flexible, weather resilient, seamless, waterproof, and thermoplastic roof covering layer and a method to prepare such a layer. The method is similar to that used in the preparation of clothing wherein a pattern, which may be out of paper, is prepared according to the measurements of the roof and any protruding or embedded structures thereon. Thermoplastic fabric is cut according to the pattern specifics. The fabric pieces are attached to each other to form a snugly fitting roof covering layer which is then fused and compressed in situ.

  • Patent number: 5937603
Abstract: Improvements in a roof covering system include the use of flexible pouches containing heavy, dense materials such as dense oil and sand. These pouches are compressed between supports, such as parapet walls and pipes, and fixtures mounted on the supports, resulting in improved sealing against water seapage into the roof.Another improvement is in the provision of a storage tank of sealing material such as tar to help maintain the level required for adequate protection of roofing materials against adverse weather conditions. The additional provision of a wetted layer between two water impermeable layers allows for better temperature control of the roofing materials. Temperature controlled water can be circulated through this wetted layer using a system of spiralling pipes with an underground water storage area of larger spiral piping.

  • Patent number: 5733408
Abstract: A novel heater roller system capable of reaching temperatures in excess of 400 degrees Centigrade is used in situ to prepare highly weather resistant polymeric covering materials by compressing and fusing a layer of fibers and fiber particles by heating the layer through an overlayer of an air-impermeable, heat tolerant material such as aluminum. The fiber layer may contain reinforcing fibers, heat conductive metal flakes, and/or other additives. Such a layer is particularly useful as a roof covering material made in situ.

  • Patent number: 5365703
Abstract: A water, fire and heat proof roof is provided and consists of a tar holder affixed about an inner surface of a parapet, so that a lower portion of the tar holder will overlap and cover curved ends of an upper layer of polymer roof covering material to help keep the roof water proof, heat proof, fire proof and cool. A water sprinkler system is also utilized to prevent a fire and reduce heat on the roof to keep it cool.
