  • Patent number: 8550852
Abstract: The invention relates to an electrical connector that includes an insulating connector housing containing a plurality of slots arranged in a matrix of rows and columns. A plurality of single ended contacts is received in the slots. In particular, the single ended contacts are arranged in pairs in said slots of said matrix, such that, in a first row, a first pair of said contacts accommodates slots in a first column and a second column of said matrix and, in a second row adjacent to said first row, a second pair of said contacts accommodates slots in said second column and a third column of said matrix, wherein positions corresponding respectively to the first row and the third column, and to the first column and the second row are free of contact.

  • Publication number: 20100184340
Abstract: A connector contact assembly is provided, which includes a contact part for establishing electrical contact between a conductor of a cable or wire and a mating counter contact. The contact part includes a mating section and a crimping section, the crimping section includes a plurality of contact beams extending from the mating section and being arranged for engaging the conductor of the cable or the wire. The assembly further includes a crimping ferrule being adapted to be crimped onto at least a portion of the contact beams for fixing the contact part to the conductor.

  • Patent number: 6382997
Abstract: The invention pertains to a connector having a grounding element and a housing of an electrically insulating material. The housing includes at least one contact element comprising a contact end, an intermediate part, and a connection end. The connector also includes an electrically insulating voltage variable medium that is provided between the at least one contact element and the grounding element. The electrically insulating voltage variable medium becomes electrically conducting at a voltage that is substantially higher than the operating voltages of a device for which the connector is intended or of which it is a part. The connector described herein is relatively compact and enables constant ESD suppression.
