  • Patent number: 6686670
Abstract: An access- and starting/driving-authorization system for a motor vehicle, having a portable transponder and a control unit accomodated in the motor vehicle, in order to control the smart master-key system and the engine control unit. In inquiry/response dialogs, the transponder and the control unit enabling or blocking access to the motor vehicle, and the starting and driving of the motor vehicle, using sets of code information that are matched to each other. Starting and driving the motor vehicle after forcibly entering the motor vehicle and replacing the engine control unit, including a vehicle immobilizer and a transponder of the control units relevant for starting and driving, is prevented in that the enabling of the motor-vehicle to be started and driven, after a successful starting/driving-authorization inquiry/response dialog, is rendered dependent on a preceding, successful access-authorization inquiry/response dialog.

  • Patent number: 6617047
Abstract: The present invention relates to a process for coating apparatuses and apparatus parts for chemical plant construction—which are taken to mean, for example, apparatus, tank and reactor walls, discharge devices, valves, pumps, filters, compressors, centrifuges, columns, dryers, comminution machines, internals, packing elements and mixing elements—wherein a metal layer or a metal/polymer dispersion layer is deposited in an electroless manner on the apparatus(es) or apparatus part(s) to be coated by bringing the parts into contact with a metal electrolyte solution which, in addition to the metal electrolyte, comprises a reducing agent and optionally the polymer or polymer mixture to be deposited in dispersed form, where at least one polymer is halogenated.

  • Patent number: 6611193
Abstract: A vehicle security arrangement includes at least one functional control unit, which provides a first code word; a theft protection control unit, which is coupled via a bus to the at least one functional control unit; and at least one input unit, which transmits to the theft protection control unit a second code word which the theft protection control unit forwards to the at least one function control unit. The theft protection control unit may initiate the provision of the first code word and the second code word. In the at least one functional control unit, a comparison of the first code word of the at least one functional control unit with the second code word takes place. In case of agreement between the first code word and the second code word, the at least one functional control unit enables itself.

  • Patent number: 6513581
Abstract: The invention relates to a process for the production of a heat transfer device, which comprises electroless chemical deposition of a metal/polymer dispersion layer, in which the polymer is halogenated, on a heat transfer surface. The invention furthermore relates to a process for the production of a heat transfer device, wherein a metal/phosphorus layer with a thickness of from 1 to 15 &mgr;m is applied by electroless chemical deposition before application of the metal/polymer dispersion layer. The invention furthermore relates to a heat transfer device which can be produced by a process according to the invention, and to the use of a coating, produced by electroless chemical deposition of a metal/polymer dispersion layer, in which the polymer is halogenated, for reducing the tendency of the coated surfaces to accumulate solids from fluids, causing fouling.

  • Patent number: 6473839
Abstract: A device or arrangement for exchanging data between a main station (master) (10) and at least one secondary station (slave) (12, 12n), which each have access to at least one common data line (11) via interfaces CAN, and processes for operating the device. Except for an individual identifier (a, b, . . . , d) of each slave (12, 12n), which is stored in an identifier memory (27, 27n) disposed in the slave (12, 12n), the slaves (12, 12n) are identical. The master (10) likewise includes an identifier memory (22), in which the identifiers (a, b, . . . , d) of the slaves (12, 12n) are to be stored, so that the master can address the slaves (12, 12n) in a targeted way and can process the data output by the slaves (12, 12n). The processes according to the invention pertain to the storage of the identifiers (a, b, . . .

  • Patent number: 6107695
Abstract: A drive lock includes a security control unit and an engine control unit that is ready for operation only when the engine control unit has received from the security control unit an encoded release code that matches a predetermined reference code. The engine control unit has storage devices into which it can enter a reference code. On receipt of a release code, it checks on whether a reference code is present in the storage devices. If there is a reference code matching the release code, the engine control unit makes itself ready for operation. If there is no reference code, it accepts the release code into the storage devices as the reference code.

  • Patent number: 5583383
Abstract: A vehicle security system with an anti-theft controller which conducts a data exchange with at least one function controller, particularly an engine controller, in order to control its operational readiness, wherein the data exchange is conducted via a data line connecting at least the anti-theft controller and the function controller. Alternatively, an external device (4) can be connected to the data line (1), with the device being configured for the exchange of data with at least one of the controllers (2, 3, 3', 3") The data line is a line which is already in existence in the vehicle, particularly a K-diagnostics line and/or an L-diagnostics line in accordance with ISO standard 9141. For the control of the data exchange, one of the controllers (2, 3) connected via the data line (1) exercises the functions of the control unit.
