  • Publication number: 20110123773
Abstract: A device for producing a multi-ply fibrous product includes an embossing roll with first and second embossing protrusions on its outer circumferential surface having at least two different heights in a radial direction, an anvil roll cooperating with the embossing roll, an application roll for applying colored adhesive or ink arranged next to the embossing roll, and a marrying roll or another embossing roll running against the embossing roll, wherein the application roll forms a negative gap with the outer diameter of the embossing roll, and the negative gap exceeds the difference in height of the first and second protrusions. A method for producing a multi-ply fibrous product and a multi-ply fibrous product are also described.

  • Patent number: 7871692
Abstract: A multi-ply web of tissue paper having at least two plies comprising a first web (2a) consisting of at least one ply and being provided with a first embossing pattern forming cushions (24) limited by regions (22) of compressed material and a second web (3a) having at least one ply and being provided with a second pattern with protrusions (32) of compressed material. The first web and the second web are combined together such that the protrusions of compressed material (32) of the second web (3a) are positioned inside the cushions (24) limited by the regions (22) of compressed material (22). Further, the invention relates to a paper converting device and a method for producing such product.

  • Patent number: 6729869
Abstract: An embossing device for embossing a single-ply or multi-ply web of tissue paper includes a first steel roll with embossing protuberances on its peripheral surface and a second roll with a yielding layer on its peripheral surface. The second roll cooperates with the steel roll so as to form an embossing nip therewith. The steel roll and the second roll run in synchronization. The second roll has individual zones on its peripheral surface with a higher overall thickness and/or different material characteristics of the yielding layer compared to that of the remaining peripheral surface. These individual zones are opposed in the embossing nip to embossing protuberances of the steel roll.

  • Patent number: 6454693
Abstract: The invention relates to a method and a device for achieving adhesion between layers of tissue paper, according to which a surface structure corresponding to that of sandpaper is pressed into the product along the side of at least one roller when the individual layers are joined in a roll nip. This results in good adhesion between layers with only minor optical impairment of the product surface and without the use of glue or such like.
