Abstract: A manually actuated strapping unit for wrapping a tightening strap around a packaged item (58), includes a base plate (1) which is provided with a supporting surface (1b) for arranging on the packaged item (58). The unit further has a sealing device with which two strap layers (60), (61) can be connected permanently to each other, and is provided with a tensioning device with which a strap tension can be applied to the tightening strap. The tensioning device has a manually actuated tensioning lever (39) with which a tensioning wheel (38), arranged on a tensioning shaft (43), can be actuated. The unit further is provided with a separating device with which the strap can be severed wherein the unit includes an axial coupling (44) in a force flux from the tensioning lever (39) to the tensioning wheel (38).

The tensioning device is provided with an actuable tensioning tool being fastened releaseably to the strapping unit by at least one fastening element. The sealing device is provided with a single- or multi-part sealing tool being fitted on the strapping unit by at least one releaseable, further fastening element. The separating device has a blade which can be brought into contact with the strap. At least part of the separating device is fitted releaseably on the strapping unit by at least one further, releaseable fastening element. The fastening elements are of a design which enables the fastening elements to be actuated by the same tool. Worn parts can therefore be swapped with very little maintenance effort.

Abstract: In a strapping apparatus for strapping goods with a band, which apparatus has a tensioning device which is operatively connected to a tensioning drive and is intended for tensioning the band, a welding device for sealing two layers of a band, and a plurality of rewinding locks for fixing the band on the strapping apparatus, highest possible efficiency is to be achieved. The invention proposes providing the welding device with a lever (91), on the one end of which an eccentric (94) which is operatively connected to a motor shaft acts for the purpose of transmitting an eccentric movement, with regard to the motor shaft of the closure device, to the lever (91), and to the other end of which a welding shoe (86) is coupled, the lever (91) being mounted pivotably at a bearing point (90), so that the movement of the eccentric results in an oscillating reciprocating movement of the welding shoe. As a result, it is possible to reduce the power loss occurring in the friction welding operation.

Abstract: A strapping apparatus for strapping goods with a band, which apparatus has a tensioning device which is operatively connected to a tensioning drive and is intended for tensioning of the band, a closure device for sealing two ends of a band, and a plurality of rewinding locks for fixing the band on the strapping apparatus, is to be as lightweight as possible while of high functional reliability. It is therefore proposed that an essentially plate-shaped control board (14) which is operatively connected to an actuating means is provided as the means for controlling functions of the strapping apparatus, that a movement of the actuating means brings about a pivoting movement of the control board (14), and that the pivoting movement of the control board can be transmitted to a plurality of transmitting means which are coupled to the control board, with which the rewinding locks (5, 6, 26) can be transferred from a locking position into an insertion position and vice versa.
