Abstract: The invention relates to a bottle closure which is suitable, in particular, for champagne bottles having threaded mouths. This bottle closure is unitary made and is of plastic and has a stopper like sealing shank, with a smooth exterior, which penetrates into the neck of the bottle. A cap comprising an internal thread which is adapted to the external thread of the bottle is provided around the sealing shank. The latter projects somewhat beyond the thread of the cap so that, when the bottle closure is opened, a "plop" which is a typical noise of a champagne bottle, is produced. The bottle itself has a bead which, when the bottle closure is in place, is covered by the lower end of the cap. Between the uppermost turn of the thread of the cap and the beginning of the sealing shank on the cap there is provided a sealing lip which, when the bottle closure is in place, bears upon the upper edge of the neck of the bottle.

Abstract: This invention relates to stopper devices, particularly stopper devices for closing bottles containing wine. It includes two parts, namely a hollow body of synthetic material defining a cavity open at the top and closed at the bottom and having a fluted flange at the upper end thereof. A bottle cap is mounted on said fluted flange and engages the flutes thereof to preclude relative rotary motion between said flange and said cap. The wall of said body of synthetic material includes an upper bulging portion and a lower cylindrical portion and a cylindrical stopper of cork is press-fitted into said lower cylindrical portion.

Abstract: A tamper-proof bottle stopper intended to be used for closing wine bottles. The stopper means is of a composite nature and includes a stopper body having an integral upper flange portion which is situated in the closed position above the annular end surface of the neck of a bottle and abuts against the latter when the stopper body proper is pressed into the neck. The upper portion of the stopper body is corrugated or fluted on the radially outer surface thereof. The stopper body defines a cavity open at the upper end and closed at the lower end into which a gas-tight stopper insert is placed. The composite stopper means further includes a fluted cap that engages and coacts with the fluted portion of the stopper body so as to prevent a rotary motion of the cap relative to the stopper body. The cap is provided with a skirt projecting downwardly on the outer surface of the neck of a bottle.
