  • Publication number: 20220241115
Abstract: A dermal dressing is provided that comprises a foam layer and an adhesive layer applied directly thereon. A textile fabric is arranged on a side of the foam layer facing away from the adhesive layer, and the textile fabric comprises a vertically-lapped nonwoven. A method for producing the dermal dressing of the first aspect is also provided. The method comprises: providing the foam layer; applying the adhesive layer to the foam layer; applying the textile fabric to a side of the foam layer facing away from the adhesive layer; and bonding the foam layer and the textile fabric. The dermal dressing has optimal properties for its use in preventing pressure ulcers.

  • Publication number: 20220203650
Abstract: A wound cleaning product is described as used for sterile debridement of wounds. The wound cleaning product comprises a composite material having a foam layer and a fiber layer arranged on a surface of the foam layer. The fiber layer is at least partially thermally solidified, and the foam layer and the fiber layer are connected to one another by needling such that fibers of the fiber layer have penetrated into the foam layer and form capillary channels that extend from the fiber layer into the foam layer.

  • Patent number: 10092673
Abstract: A plurality of fibers or one-dimensional, two-dimensional, or three-dimensional fibrous structures are provided, having fibers from a first raw fiber material. The first raw fiber material contains unsubstituted or partially substituted polyvinyl alcohol and/or unsubstituted or partially substituted polyvinyl alcohol copolymer. The fibers can be crosslinked by tempering the fibers or fibrous structures, with the result that the fibers or the fibrous structure are configured to be gel, in particular hydrogel, fibers or fibrous structures and have excellent stability.

  • Publication number: 20170002511
Abstract: A method for producing hydrogelling fibers or fiber structures, involving tempering fibers or fiber structures composed of a first fiber raw material comprising water-soluble polyvinyl alcohol and/or water-soluble polyvinyl alcohol copolymer for a predetermined tempering duration at a predetermined tempering temperature that is greater than a glass transition temperature and/or less than a melting temperature of the first fiber raw material used, such that the fibers are cross-linked, wherein the fibers or fiber structures are provided with an acid catalyst before the tempering.

  • Patent number: 9259506
Abstract: Fibers or one-dimensional, two-dimensional, or three-dimensional fibrous structures configured to be hydrogelling, produced from fibers made of a first fiber raw material, whereby the first fiber raw material contains water-soluble polyvinyl alcohol and/or polyvinyl alcohol copolymer, whereby the hydrogelling configuration of the fibers or fibrous structures is achieved by tempering the fiber raw material at a predetermined tempering temperature that is preferably higher than the glass transition temperature and/or lower than the melting or decomposition temperature of the first fiber raw material employed, as well as by tempering for a predetermined tempering duration, and whereby the fiber raw material is cross-linked by the tempering.

  • Publication number: 20130244523
Abstract: A method for the production of at least one of oxidized cellulose fibers, oxidized cellulose fiber sheet materials and oxidized cellulose nonwovens includes introducing at least one of cellulose fibers, cellulose fiber sheet materials and cellulose nonwovens into a reactor. A temperature of the reactor is set in a range from 25° C. to 80° C. Gaseous nitrogen dioxide is introduced into the reactor so as to oxidize the at least one of cellulose fibers, cellulose fiber sheet materials and cellulose nonwovens. A temperature of the reactor is set in a range from 20° C. to less than 160° C. The at least one of oxidized cellulose fibers, oxidized cellulose fiber sheet materials and oxidized cellulose nonwovens are neutralized with at least one base.
