  • Patent number: 11722298
Abstract: Methods and systems generate seeds for public-private key pairs by determining a timestamp value associated with a process design kit (PDK) when a user of the PDK triggers a tool of the PDK while designing an integrated circuit device to have a physical unclonable function device (PUF). The methods and systems generate a first value by mapping the timestamp value to data of the user, generate a second value by mapping the timestamp value to configuration data of the PDK, and generate a third value by mapping the timestamp value to layout data of the PDK. A random number is then generated by applying a function to the first value, the second value, and the third value. A public-private encryption key pair is generated using the random number as a first seed number and using a second number generated by the number generation device as a second seed number.

  • Patent number: 11105846
Abstract: Embodiments of the disclosure provide a system for detecting and monitoring a crack in an integrated circuit (IC), including: at least one electrically conductive perimeter line (PLINE) extending about, and electrically isolated from, a protective structure formed in an inactive region of the IC, wherein an active region of the IC is enclosed within the protective structure; a circuit for sensing a change in an electrical characteristic of the at least one PLINE, the change in the electrical characteristic indicating a presence of a crack in the inactive region of the IC; and a connecting structure for electrically coupling each PLINE to the sensing circuit.

  • Patent number: 8578314
Abstract: Systems and methods receive a design of a circuit layout. The circuit layout has some available spaces. Such systems and methods automatically insert capacitor arrays in the specified spaces. Each of the capacitor arrays has capacitor cells, and each of the capacitor cells has capacitor structures and a buried implant. The process of inserting the capacitor arrays comprises a process of forming the capacitor arrays to either: grow the capacitor arrays to the size of the specified spaces; grow the capacitor arrays to a specified capacitance value within the restriction of the length dimension or the width dimension of the specified spaces; or grow the capacitor arrays to a specified capacitance value, irrespective of dimensional length dimension or width dimension limitations (where the only limitations are the dimensions of the specified space).
