  • Patent number: 10307930
Abstract: A guide bar for a saw chain includes an elongate, flat base body made of a basic material. The base body extends along a longitudinal center axis and, in order to guide a saw chain, has a running surface formed on an outer periphery thereof and a guide groove formed in the outer periphery of the base body. The guide groove has a groove base. A direction-reversing section for the saw chain is provided at one end of the base body. The direction-reversing section includes at least one add-on component having a running surface made of more wear-resistant material than the basic material of the base body. The add-on component is secured to the base body of the guide bar by at least one weld seam. The weld seam extends between the add-on component and the base body and is located spatially beneath the groove base.

  • Patent number: 9732795
Abstract: A cutting assembly of a chainsaw includes a saw chain and a guide bar (4) for guiding the saw chain (3) along a peripheral edge (5) of the guide bar. The saw chain (3) has drive links (6) having drive bases (7) which with their side surfaces (8, 8?) are slidingly guided between the side walls (9) of a guide groove (10) of the guide bar (4) with the formation of a friction pairing. Lubricant pockets (11) are formed in the side surface (8). The lubricant pockets (11) are only open toward the corresponding side wall (9) of the guide groove (10) and are otherwise closed. Offside the lubricant pockets (11), the side surface (8) has a flat sliding surface (12) which slides on the side wall (9) of the guide groove (10). The lubricant pocket (11) has a mean diameter and a maximum depth. The ratio of the mean diameter to the maximum depth lies in a range of 5.0 up to and including 25.0.

  • Patent number: 9073232
Abstract: The application relates to a chainsaw system and chain guard for a chainsaw with interchangeable cutting attachments of different lengths. The cutting attachments have cutting chains, and the chain guard includes an insertion opening for inserting a cutting attachment, at least two side walls for covering lateral surfaces of the cutting attachment, a front end opposite the insertion opening, a first latching depression formed in at least one side wall, and a second latching depression formed in at least one side wall at a distance closer toward the insertion opening with respect to the first latching depression. The first latching depression and the second latching depression each include an arcuate latching surface for latching in a form-fitting manner with a cutting chain of the cutting attachment, such that the latching is active in the direction of a longitudinal axis of the chain guard.

  • Publication number: 20150183124
Abstract: A cutter tooth has a base member with rivet openings spaced at a rivet spacing. A cutting element is attached by brazing to the base member at the upper edge of the base member. A depth limiter is provided on the base member in front of the cutting element. A chip recess is formed between depth limiter and cutting element. The depth limiter has an upright edge delimiting the chip recess. A forward contour of the lateral section of the cutting element and an inner contour of the chip recess define a corner point within the chip recess. The corner point is positioned at a first spacing relative to the upright edge of the depth limiter. The rivet spacing is divided by a perpendicular center plane positioned at a second spacing relative to the upright edge of the depth limiter. The first spacing is smaller than the second spacing.

  • Publication number: 20080072733
Abstract: A saw chain for the guide bar of a power chain saw includes pivotably interconnected drive links, cutting links or connecting links. The cutting link has a cutting tooth and a depth limiter that leads the cutting tooth. The drive link adjacent to the depth limiter is provided with a support protuberance and a support surface that during travel of the saw chain about the end of the guide bar cooperates in a supporting manner with the depth limiter. With the saw chain extended, the support protuberance has a smaller spacing to the cutting tooth than does the depth limiter. During travel of the saw chain about the end of the guide bar, the spacing of the support protuberance to the cutting tooth increases to a reversal spacing that is greater than the spacing of the depth limiter to the cutting tooth. In a side view of the saw chain, the spacing between the cutting tooth and the depth limiter is limited by the support protuberance.

  • Patent number: 6112419
Abstract: A cutter head assembly for a motor chain saw has a cutter head housing and a drive shaft mounted in and projecting from the cutter head housing. A drive pinion is mounted on the portion of the drive shaft projecting from the cutter head housing. A guide bar having a first end positioned adjacent to the drive pinion is provided. A saw chain is driven by the drive pinion and circulates on the guide bar. A cover covering the drive pinion and resting at least in an area of outgoing deflection of the saw chain at a housing wall of the cutter head housing defines a cuttings chamber open toward the guide bar. The first end of the guide bar is clamped between the housing wall of the cutter head housing end the cover. The cover has a cuttings ejection opening opposite the housing wall in the vicinity of the area of outgoing deflection. The cuttings ejection opening has a rim extending in a circulating direction of the saw chain and a ramp projecting from a first portion of the rim into the cutting chamber.
