  • Patent number: 4795369
Abstract: An electrical connector adapted to cooperate with a loudspeaker includes a body formed into a socket having at least two contact bars for connection to a motor of the loudspeaker, and at least one projection having a bearing surface adapted to abut against the bowl of the speaker and at least two elastic clamps including a shoulder adapted to interact with edges of corresponding openings in the speaker bowl.

  • Patent number: 4734052
Abstract: An electrical connector including a first box element and a second box element, each box element receiving an electrical contact and the other box element when one of the box elements is inverted head-to-tail upside down with respect to the other box element. Each element includes male and female portions. The male portion includes a locking lug having an elastic portion and a stiff rounded portion. The female portion includes a joggle. The joggle of each element is adapted to engage the locking lug of the other element during assembly of the first and second elements along an insertion axis. When this occurs the joggle will climb up the stiff rounded portion of the locking lug thereby displacing the first and second elements in opposite directions perpendicular to the insertion axis. Further displacement along the insertion axis displaces the joggle into contact with the elastic portion which bends, so as to displace the two elements closer to each other perpendicular to the insertion axis.

  • Patent number: 4732437
Abstract: An electrical connector including two complimentary box-shaped elements each including a body having a plurality of compartments. Each compartment includes an aperture to receive an electrical contact device, a locking device for engaging the electrical contact device to lock the contact device in the compartment, and a lug having a portion that is sufficiently steep to prevent the electrical contact device from passing over this portion of the lug when the electrical contact device is inserted into the compartment in a position different from a normal insertion position. Also provided is a barrier which consists of a ramp connected to the steep portion of the lug. In the normal insertion position the electrical contact device passes over the ramp and lug to be locked in the compartment, whereas in a position different from this normal insertion position the electrical contact device abuts the steep portion of the lug and cannot fully enter the compartment or engage the locking device.

  • Patent number: 4698027
Abstract: A joint for establishing a substantially waterproof and tight electrical connection between two electrical connecting members is provided. The joint comprises two casing sections housing a male member and a corresponding female member into which the male member is adapted to be inserted, each of the members having an electrical conductor attached thereto and each having a portion thereof embedded within one end of a block of insulating material. Free ends of the respective blocks are adapted to face one another in substantial alignment, and the male and female members are positioned within the block and are retained in each of the casing sections. The joint is a substantially moisture-tight and pliable plastic material within which an axial conduit or bore is provided, which bore is adapted to be engaged around the exterior of the female mamber.

  • Patent number: 4696530
Abstract: A female electrical contact element is fabricated from thin sheet metal that is resilient and a good conductor of electricity. The metal sheet is cut into a blank which is adapted to be folded into an arrangement of parts at one end for connecting the female electrical contact element to an electrical conductor and into a channel at another end adapted to receive a flat male contact member. The channel portion of the female electrical contact element includes a base, two side walls and a top wall. An elongate section of the top wall extends from the end of the top wall opposite the connecting arrangement and is folded inside the channel. The elongate section has a free end folded into a catch which is hook-shaped and adapted to protrude through an opening in the base. The elongate section of the top wall also has an elongate slot with a longitudinal part and a transverse part opening into an edge of the elongate section which divides the elongate section into two tangs.

  • Patent number: 4664460
Abstract: An electrical connector including an insulated receptacle having a front wall with openings provided with at least one channel which emerges into a opening for receiving a female electrical contact member. The channel is provided with a means for biasing to cooperate with corresponding means for retention on the electrical contact member so as to ensure the secure positioning of the electrical contact member when it is put in place in the channel. The channel has a cross-sectional dimension greater than of the electrical contact member and tapers gradually on the front face towards the opposite end of the insulating box. The electrical contact member is provided with a flared opening at its end which turns towards the front face of the insulated box.
