Publication number: 20240095779Abstract: Disclosed herein are system, apparatus, article of manufacture, method and/or computer program product embodiments, and/or combinations and sub-combinations thereof, for enhancing a deterministic identity graph with probabilistic data. An example embodiment operates by identifying a node for a location indicated by an identity graph. Receiving user device information based on an indication that a user device is within proximity to the location. Generating a node for the user device on the identity graph based on the indication of the user device satisfying an association threshold. Generating an edge between the node for the location and the node for the user device based on a weighted value for an attribute of the user information. Patent number: 8138926Abstract: Motion detecting devices may be used to help monitor and guide human subjects interacting with objects. An activity monitoring station may receive an interaction schedule for a human subject. The schedule may list objects with which the human subject is scheduled to interact. The station may receive motion data from a motion detecting device worn by the subject and a device situated on or in an object. The station may generate a motion alignment score, based on the motion data, and may determine that the subject has interacted with the object, based on the alignment score. The station may also automatically determine whether the interaction is an approved interaction or a disapproved interaction, based on the schedule. The station may automatically cause an approval or disapproval signal to be generated for the human subject. Interaction reports may be generated and transmitted to caregivers. Other embodiments are described and claimed.Type: GrantFiled: June 30, 2008Date of Patent: March 20, 2012Assignee: Intel-GE Care Innovations LLCInventors: Frank Bomba, Beth Logan, Jean-Manuel Van Thong

Patent number: 7734335Abstract: An apparatus and a method for detecting cardiac atrial fibrillation events in an EKG signal. The method comprises the steps of detecting a portion of an EKG signal comprising cardiac beats; measuring the duration of a gap in the detected portion of the EKG signal; and computing two or more inter-beat intervals. The computed interval is outputted if the gap in the portion of the EKG signal is not more than a fraction alpha of the computed interval. The method further includes the steps of computing the variance of the inter-beat intervals and classifying the portions of the EKG signal as indicative of an atrial fibrillation event. During classification, the inter-beat interval variance of the portion of the EKG signal that exceeds a pre-determined value V is indicative of an atrial fibrillation event.Type: GrantFiled: September 29, 2005Date of Patent: June 8, 2010Assignee: Hewlett-Packard Development Company, L.P.Inventors: Leonidas Kontothanassis, Beth Logan, David Goddeau

Publication number: 20060288846Abstract: A music segment reproducing device comprises a music segment processing unit for tempo morphing an input music segment into an output music segment. The device includes a control unit for interfacing with a user and receiving a desired cadence as an input and a memory unit for storing input and output music segments. A music segment can be a song. The tempo of the input music segment is changed to correspond to the desired cadence without substantially changing the pitch of the input music segment. The device can include a music segment reproducing unit for reading the output music segment from the memory unit and reproducing the output music segment as an analog waveform via headphones or speakers.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 27, 2005Publication date: December 28, 2006Inventor: Beth Logan

Publication number: 20060276716Abstract: A method for automatically detecting atrial fibrillation in a non-standard ECG signal having changing morphology and containing significant muscle noise generated by an ambulatory subject is provided. A morphology independent QRS detector is used to compute R-R intervals in the ECG signal. The variance of the R-R intervals over a sliding window is normalized and compared with a threshold to determine if atrial fibrillation is present within the window.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 7, 2005Publication date: December 7, 2006Inventors: Jennifer Healey, Beth Logan

Publication number: 20050222507Abstract: Computer method and apparatus for reading and analyzing ECG signals includes applying a plurality of heart condition detectors to a subject ECG signal. Each detector produces a respective indication of likelihood of certain heart conditions existing in the subject. A lattice having annotations of the different detector heart conditions is formed from the detector indications. The lattice enables medical personnel to navigate through and hence more easily read the ECG signal data. The lattice effectively provides an indexed or annotated version of the subject ECG signal.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 5, 2004Publication date: October 6, 2005Inventors: Beth Logan, Pedro Moreno, David Goddeau

Publication number: 20050222508Abstract: Computer method and apparatus of analyzing ECG signals of a subject include receiving a subject electrocardiogram signal and comparing it against signal patterns of known cardiac syndromes. A library of example predefined signals is employed. Distance measures indicating similarity of the subject signal to the example predefined signals are produced and form a sequence of vectors. The sequence of vectors are input into a classifier which determines existence of signal patterns indicative of any cardiac syndromes in the subject.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 5, 2004Publication date: October 6, 2005Inventors: Pedro Moreno, David Goddeau, Beth Logan

Patent number: 6505153Abstract: Disclosed is a five-step process for producing closed captions for a television program, subtitles for a movie or other uses for time-aligned transcripts. An operator transcribes the audio track while listening to the recorded material. The system helps him/her to work efficiently and produce precisely aligned captions. The first step consists of identifying the portions of the input audio that contain spoken text. Only the spoken parts are further processed by the invention system. The other parts may be used to generate non-spoken captions. The second step controls the rate of speech depending on how fast the operator types. While the operator types, the third module records the time the words were typed in. This provides a rough time alignment for the transcribed text. Then the fourth module realigns precisely the transcribed text on the audio track. A final module segments the transcribed text into captions, based on acoustic clues and natural language constraints.Type: GrantFiled: May 22, 2000Date of Patent: January 7, 2003Assignee: Compaq Information Technologies Group, L.P.Inventors: Jean-Manuel Van Thong, Michael Swain, Beth Logan
