  • Patent number: 5855795
Abstract: A water purifier includes filters for purifying tap water, a storage tank for storing the purified water, and hot and cold water tanks for respectively heating and cooling water received from the storage tank. Water is dispensed from the hot and cold water tanks. An ultraviolet lamp is provided for sterilizing water in the storage tank. A controller controls a valve for supplying tap water to the filters. The controller closes the valve when water in the storage tank reaches a first reference level and opens the valve when the water level descends to a second reference level. The controller keeps the lamp deactivated while the valve is open, and activates the lamp at periodic intervals during a time when the water level remains above a third reference level.

  • Patent number: 5827428
Abstract: A water dispenser includes a housing in which a tank is disposed for containing purified water. A valve is disposed at a front of the housing for enabling a user to dispense the purified water. A water collecting tub is disposed beneath the valve for collecting spilled water. A drainage hose communicates with a lower portion of the tub for draining-away collected water. A removable filter is removably mounted across an inlet of the drainage passage for filtering-out foreign substances that might otherwise block the drainage hose.

  • Patent number: 5823007
Abstract: A water dispenser includes a storage tank for receiving purified water, and supplying the water to hot and cold water tanks disposed beneath the storage tank. Dispensing valves are connected to the hot and cold water tanks for dispensing water therefrom. A water level detector is provided for maintaining a water level in the storage tank at a predetermined first elevation. An expansion tank has an outlet and inlet situated at a second elevation disposed above the first elevation. The inlet of the expansion tank communicates with the top of the hot water tank so that the presence of water in the storage tank situated above the second elevation forces water to flow from the hot water tank and through the expansion tank. Also, excess water in the hot water tank caused by thermal expansion is forced through the expansion tank.

  • Patent number: 5811001
Abstract: The present invention relates to a water dispensing coupling apparatus of a water purifier, the apparatus having a water dispensing apparatus comparing water discharge pipe formed with a female screw at one side of an inner periphery thereof and formed at a predetermined position thereof with an airtight cover unit having a tapered inclination, whereas a fastening unit connected to the water discharge pipe is formed with a male screw meshed at one side thereof to the female screw and is insertedly disposed at the other side thereof with a packing member at a predetermined spacing, whereby there is an advantage in that an water dispensing outlet of a water dispensing body can be perpendicularly faced downward and the hot water and cold water can be prevented from being leaked, so that reliability and quality of the water purifier can be improved.
