  • Patent number: 6651394
Abstract: A method and apparatus for positioning mild steel reinforcing bars within a precast, moment resisting frame of a building. The apparatus includes a hand-receiving access component that can be installed within the concrete beams that make up the building frame so as to permit convenient access to the reinforcing bars that are slidably carried within bar receiving passageways formed within the concrete beams. Additionally, the apparatus includes a bladder-receiving component that can be installed within the concrete beams that make up the building frame in a manner to permit an expandable bladder to be conveniently positioned within the cable receiving passageways formed in the beam. When in position within a cable-receiving passageway, the expandable bladder spans the interface between the beam and the column and effectively prevents grout from entering the cable passageway during the grouting step.

  • Patent number: 6601354
Abstract: A method and apparatus for post-tensioning a reinforcing strand disposed within a concrete slab of the character having a plurality of reinforcing members embedded therein. The apparatus includes a yieldably deformable elastomeric body having a longitudinally extending passageway formed therein for receiving the reinforcing strand. The apparatus also includes a removal mechanism for use in expeditiously removing the elastomeric body from the concrete slab after the slab has been poured.

  • Patent number: 6588730
Abstract: An apparatus for positioning high-strength cables within a precast, moment resisting frame made up of interconnected columns and beams in which the columns have an outside face provided with an opening and a cable receiving passageway in communication with the opening. The apparatus uniquely includes a cable routing subassembly for conveniently routing the cables from the interior of the moment resisting frame to the opening in the outside faces of the columns. The cable routing subassembly includes a curved tubular member that permits the cable to be inserted into an opening in the outside face of the column either from a first level within the structure that is substantially coplanar with the opening in the outside face of the column, or from a second level within the structure that is below the first level.

  • Publication number: 20030069906
Abstract: A method and system for multi-page web applications with central control are disclosed. A web application description is provided to a central controller. The web application description has at least one statement to cause the display of a web page. At least one web page description is provided having at least one link that points to the central controller and that identifies the web application description. The central controller responds to an initial invokation thereof, causing statements in the web application to be executed. Before execution of the at least one statement that causes the display of a web page, implicit state information about the web application is stored, including storing information identifying a statement to execute. Upon executing the at least one statement that causes the display of a web page, execution of the web application description terminates.

  • Publication number: 20030063122
Abstract: A system, method, and computer program product for creating and using stateful web applications are described. A web-based computing environment manages the execution of web programs such that the environment causes a web program to terminate if it executes one of a set of program-terminating statements. A control program receives an application definition expressed as a plurality of statements, including at least one of said program-terminating statements. The control program receives a request to execute the application definition and identifies whether the request to execute corresponds to an existing application session. If the request to execute does not correspond to an existing application session, implicit application session state including initializing a program pointer to identify a first statement in the application definition to execute is initialized. If the request to execute corresponds to an existing application session, implicit application session state is restored from a storage location.
