  • Patent number: 5707126
Abstract: A self-retracting, wall-mounted desk and chart holder especially useful as a decentralized nurses' station is provided having a slim profile, compact construction, and being specifically designed for mounting on walls outside patient rooms. The chart holder includes a body having structure for defining a side entry storage slot of sufficient width to receive a medical chart standing on edge and extending parallel to the wall on which the chart holder is mounted. The slot is shorter than the chart so that a portion of the chart may project out beyond the slot and above the slot to make it visible at-a-glance. The chart holder further includes a desktop which is swingably attached to the body for movement of the desktop between a horizontal open position for use as a work surface, and a vertical closed position.

  • Patent number: 5699988
Abstract: A coupler clamping assembly (10) is provided for releasably connecting a mobile support stand (52) with a patient transport device such as a gurney (54), in order to allow patient transfer with the support stand while eliminating the need for extra transport personnel. The clamp (10) preferably includes a pair of opposed, laterally spaced apart jaws (20, 22) interconnected by a central bight section (24). A connector assembly including a pair of oppositely extending elongated connection elements (14, 16) is supported on the body for relative pivotal movement, and the connection elements are received for rotation in a tubular section (66) conventionally provided as a part of the gurney (54). A clamping screw (18) is threaded for receipt in a threaded opening through one of the jaws (20) and cooperates with the opposed jaw (22) for securely clamping the upright standard (60) of the pole unit (52) within the clamping assembly (10).

  • Patent number: 5626318
Abstract: A receptacle holder assembly (10, 76) for urinals (70, 78) is provided which allows mounting of the assemblies on a variety of differently configured support surfaces. The assembly (10, 76) includes a holder unit (12, 80) for supporting a removable urinal (70, 78) having a pair of spaced apart mounting legs (44, 46, 90, 92). An attachment member (14) is operatively coupled to each leg (44, 46, 90, 92) for independent pivoting movement thereof about the associated leg (44, 46, 90, 92). Each holder (14) is provided with either mating hook and loop strips (64, 68) or adhesive system (114), allowing the assembly to be secured to a variety of support surfaces (16, 74, 98).

  • Patent number: 5303866
Abstract: The integrated modular spraying system is suitable for applying chemicals, including liquids and dry flowables, to various remote locations. The system includes an integrated modular tank which is preferably rotomolded from thermoplastic. A well is formed in the side of the tank and is further defined by two opposing buttresses which receive and support a freely rotating hose spool. A pump is located in a recess in the tank for pumping chemicals from the tank through the flexible hose. The hose can be peeled off from the hose spool for a substantial length to enable an operator to spray a chemical at locations remote from the integrated modular spray apparatus. After application of the chemical is complete, the hose spool can be rotated to rewind the flexible hose about the spool. In an alternative embodiment, the apparatus is suitable for applying dry flowables, including various insecticidal dusts and powders, using an air pump instead of a liquid pump.
