  • Patent number: 11949493
Abstract: A mobile terminal and its methods of use are disclosed herein. In an embodiment, a mobile terminal for enabling radio communications includes a common reference device, frequency conversion circuitry, and pilot tracking circuitry and/or signal tracking circuitry. The common reference device provides a common reference signal for frequency conversions. The frequency conversion circuitry uses the common reference signal from the common reference device to perform a frequency conversion of incoming or outgoing communications. The pilot tracking circuitry determines a frequency error based on a frequency of a received pilot signal and causes an adjustment to the frequency conversion performed by the frequency conversion circuitry based on the frequency error. The signal tracking circuitry determines a frequency error signal based on the frequency of an incoming communication signal and causes an adjustment to the frequency conversion performed by the frequency conversion circuitry based on the frequency error.

  • Publication number: 20230208456
Abstract: Communication terminals configured for satellite and terrestrial communications and methods of use are disclosed herein. In an embodiment, a communication terminal includes an antenna, a filter and filter control circuitry. The antenna is configured to receive a radio signal. The filter is configured to filter the radio signal to remove an interference signal. The filter control circuitry is configured to detect the interference signal present in the radio signal received by the antenna and cause an adjustment to the filter to block the interference signal. In another embodiment, the communication terminal includes an amplifier and gain control circuitry. The amplifier is configured to configured to amplify the radio signal. The gain control circuitry is configured to detect an interference signal present in the radio signal received by the antenna and cause an adjustment to the amplifier based on the detected interference signal.

  • Publication number: 20230146480
Abstract: A communication terminal and its method of use are disclosed herein. In an embodiment, a communication terminal includes at least one of a transmitter or a receiver, a common reference device, a vibration sensor, and a controller. The at least one of the transmitter or the receiver is configured for transmission of communications. The common reference device is configured to provide a common reference for at least one of the frequency or timing of the communications sent or received by the at least one of the transmitter or the receiver. The vibration sensor is configured to detect vibrations. The controller is configured to adjust a control voltage applied to the common reference device based on the vibrations detected by the vibration sensor.

  • Publication number: 20230095660
Abstract: Devices, systems and method for enabling radio communications between a plurality of users are disclosed herein. In an embodiment, a mobile tactical device includes a radio connection interface, a first frequency converter, a frequency filter, and a second frequency converter. The radio connection interface is configured to receive a first radio communication having a mobile frequency from a mobile radio. The first frequency converter is configured to convert the mobile frequency to an intermediate frequency. The frequency filter is configured to pass or reject the intermediate frequency. The second frequency converter is configured to convert the intermediate frequency to an assigned transmission frequency for transmission of the first communication when the intermediate frequency passes the at least one frequency filter.
