    Abstract: A baseball batting aid for use in increasing the proficiency of a batter to hit different types of pitched balls. The aid includes a conventional cork center baseball having a diametrically extending hole of a first diameter drilled therethrough with one end thereof counterbored. A cord is received through the hole and a metal sleeve member with a backup member is inserted into a counterbore of the hole so that the knotted end of the cord can be pulled back into the counterbore of the hole. A patch covers the opening of the counterbore.
