    Abstract: The present invention is an improved, portable structural system which employs braces that are adapted to engage supporting lengths of construction material such as standard 2×4 studs or standard pipes. The braces have two spaced upper and lower inboard fittings which mount to supporting lengths of construction material. When the upper and lower inboard fittings are clamped to supporting lengths of construction material, horizontal supports of the braces can support a plank or a panel which can be used by a worker as a scaffold, shelf or workbench. The braces may also have outboard fittings for attaching to vertical lengths of construction material for supporting the outboard ends of the braces.
