  • Publication number: 20080097360
Abstract: The ostomy receiving bag comprises a front wall (2) and a rear wall and has a top end and a bottom end. The top end of the rear wall is provided with an inlet to receive a stoma, and one wall is provided with at least one first half of a fixation pair (A), and the same effective wall after closure of the bag, if available, is provided with at least one second half of a fixation pair (B), such that when the first half and the second half of the fixation pair are attached, the volume of the receiving bag is reduced.

  • Publication number: 20050240163
Abstract: An ostomy appliance comprising a front wall and a rear wall of flexible material forming a bag, the rear wall having an inlet opening into the bag by which waste material can enter the bag and one of the walls having one or more vents through which gas may escape from the bag and optionally having a filter covering said vent and having an outlet opening, wherein the appliance is provided with a flap being sealable to the wall in a manner in which the flap is covering the outlet opening of the filter and furthermore to be a sealed to the wall in a manner wherein the flap is shifted to the side so that outlet opening of the filter is partially or fully open which device is characterised in that one end of the flap is sealed to the wall in a manner allowing a pivoting of the flap in the plane of the wall and that the flap has a surface which may be releasably sealed to the wall reduces the risk of adhesion between the walls of the receiving bag due to very low production of flatus causing vacuum-like condition i

  • Publication number: 20050065485
Abstract: An ostomy appliance comprising a front wall and a rear wall of flexible material forming a bag, the rear wall having an inlet opening into the bag by which waste material can enter the bag and one of the walls optionally has one or more vents through which gas may escape from the bag and having a filter covering said vent wherein gas inlet and outlet openings are provided in communication with a filter body, wherein at least an area of the wall immediate opposite the inlet opening is provided with a coating reducing the friction and the cohesion between the walls wherein also a part of the inner surface of the wall comprising the inlet opening is provided with a coating reducing the surface friction coefficient. Thus the adhesion between the walls is reduced and they will then be easier to separate for the material entering a fresh bag and gravitation will then force the material against the bottom of the bag and reduce the risk of blocking of the entrance of the bag and or a filter.

  • Publication number: 20050040060
Abstract: A package for a disposable ostomy receiving bag, said package comprising a first compartment capable of accommodating a (fresh) ostomy receiving bag and a second compartment capable of accommodating a used ostomy receiving bag, said second compartment being sealable so as to confine the receiving bag facilitates the handling of fresh and used bags and renders the user more independent of the availability of a lavatory.
