  • Patent number: 8945135
Abstract: Instrumentation for preparation of a bone includes a first guide having a first collet and a second collet. The first and second collets are formed around divergent first and second axes, and share a common opening. A bone preparation instrument may be inserted into each of the collets toward a bone. A second guide may be carried in the first guide, and a bone preparation instrument inserted through the second guide toward the bone, along a third axis.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: February 6, 2012
Date of Patent: February 3, 2015
Inventors: Michael Ries, Nicholas Slater, Joshua A. Butters, Jordan Hoof, Bjorn Rindal, Jared M. White
  • Patent number: 8747478
Abstract: A prosthetic patellar implant has a posterior articulation surface and an anterior attachment surface. The anterior attachment surface has a medial attachment surface and a lateral attachment surface. The medial and lateral attachment surfaces can be planar and angled relative to one another, meeting at a common intersection medially offset from the sagittal centerline of the implant. The medial and lateral attachment surfaces can include convexities. The anterior attachment surface can have one or more pegs and/or recesses.

  • Patent number: 8236000
Abstract: The present invention comprises a novel method and apparatus for performing an open wedge, high tibial osteotomy. More particularly, the present invention comprises the provision and use of a novel method and apparatus for forming an appropriate osteotomy cut into the upper portion of the tibia, manipulating the tibia so as to open an appropriate wedge-like opening in the tibia, and then mounting an appropriately-shaped implant at the wedge-like opening in the tibia, so as to stabilize the tibia with the desired orientation, whereby to reorient the lower portion of the tibia relative to the tibial plateau and hence adjust the manner in which load is transferred from the femur to the tibia.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: October 21, 2009
Date of Patent: August 7, 2012
    Assignee: Arthrex, Inc.
Inventors: Kelly Ammann, Robert Schneider, Bjorn Rindal
