  • Patent number: 11997280
Abstract: An apparatus includes an encoder, which receives image or video data, encodes the data and provides a bitstream representing the data. The encoder includes a CABAC encoder, which receives a binary valued syntax element associated with a block of the data to be encoded, and encodes, using a selected context model, the syntax element into coded bits for the bitstream. The syntax element includes a tool flag indicating whether or not certain coding tool, like linear weighted intra prediction, is employed when encoding a block of the data. For a block of the data which exhibits an aspect ratio larger than 2 and for a block of the data which exhibits an aspect ratio less than or equal to 2, and to which blocks the certain coding tool is applicable, first and second context models for encoding the tool flag are selected from a group of one or more first and second context models, respectively.

  • Patent number: 10088351
Abstract: A measuring arrangement and a measuring device having a sensor device, a processing device, a storage device, an interface and a control device that allows for a simplified testing of the functionality of the measuring device is achieved in that the control device retrieves externally provided data via the interface and performs a test of the measuring device. The test thereby involves the control device determining a reference value from the externally provided data, comparing the reference value to a measured value generated by the processing device and generating a comparison result based thereupon. Alternatively, the test involves the control device using the externally provided data for the generation of new calculation data to be stored in the storage device and storing the new calculation data in the storage device.

  • Patent number: 8449577
Abstract: The present invention relates to a device for the stabilization of the spine comprising at least two pedicle screws and at least one interjacent linking member. The present invention further relates to pedicle screws which combine the advantages of a monoaxial screw with those of a polyaxial screw by avoiding the drawbacks of these screw types. This objective is achieved due to the fact that the screw head is supported on the screw shank such that it cannot be moved for providing an optimal reducibility of the vertebrae, wherein a movable ball element is present in the screw head, which facilitates the introduction of the linking member and fixates the same once the introduction has been effected.

  • Publication number: 20080161818
Abstract: The present invention relates to a device for the distraction of the spinous processes of two adjacent vertebrae. The spinous processes of the two vertebrae are supported on two separated distraction means being attached to a central body which can be expanded in an infinitely variable manner. The central body can be moved apart in an infinitely variable manner and be fixated along at least one guiding means. By moving apart the central body, the distraction means are expanded along the axial axis and thus distract the spinous processes of the two vertebrae supported on them. Furthermore, holding means can provide for a stable positioning of the implant and prevent an unwanted movement of the device after the implantation.

  • Publication number: 20070162137
Abstract: The invention relates to intervertebral disc implants that imitate the natural freedom of movement and facilitate translational and/or rotational displacements of the intervertebral disc in relation to the base plate, independently of the possible displacements of the base plate in relation to the intervertebral disc. To achieve said displacements, the intervertebral disc is mounted on the base plate by means of the fixing elements located in the interior of the implant, in such a way that translational and/or rotational displacements can take place. In addition, the bearing surface between the top plate and the intervertebral disc is spherical, thus maximising the contact surface.
