  • Publication number: 20020013827
Abstract: A Service Network and Personal Service Environment Manager host and manage functionality shared among applications and user groups to provide common, application-independent directory services that serve as a logically central point of access to data. In particular, end-users can manage their service profiles in access- and location-independent scenarios. The PSEM includes functions for providing and managing service data, end-user profile data, and end-user service profile data. Among others, important aspects of the PSEM are its interfaces to other entities and functions, its distinguishing between user profile data and service-related data (i.e., service profile data and service data), and its further distinguishing between service profile data and service data.

  • Patent number: 5752188
Abstract: A system and method is provided for controlling the signalling between the subscriber of a mobile station and an external service node such as a message center. The control of the signalling is carried out by using unstructured supplementary service data (USSD) which is analyzed by a USSD handler of a home location register which invokes a transparent transfer to external service node (TTEN) application when the USSD does not correspond to a service defined within the home location register. The TTEN application establishes a dialog with the subscriber of the mobile station and the desired external service node by using USSD. This allows the subscriber of the mobile station to access all message services by sending one service code. Also, the operator is not busy while accessing the services and any incoming calls may be answered while accessing the services.

  • Patent number: 5537457
Abstract: A method for handling calls to a terminal in a mobile telephone system of the kind in which the call is handled by an ISUP/IAM message which has a static relationship between the address of the visitor location register in the network in which the terminal roams, and the unique terminal identity. If the visitor location register has no data record relating to the unique identity, an attempt is made to collect from the home location register of the called subscriber the data that is required to complete the connection, this data being stored in the visitor location register. If the attempt is successful and the called subscriber is active, the connection is set up in a known manner with the aid of this data.

  • Patent number: 5467381
Abstract: A method and apparatus for avoiding the use of specially allocated, temporary roaming numbers in a mobile telephone system for routing outside calls to a mobile subscriber roaming in the system. An incoming standardized call signal frame comprising a first parameter field including a directory number is reconstructed. The directory number in the first parameter field is replaced with the unique routing number of the mobile telephone switching center within whose service area the mobile subscriber roams. A unique international mobile subscriber identity and the directory number are inserted in a second parameter field. This implies a static addressing principle in which the routing address will also contain directly the number of the called subscriber. This facilitates restoration of certain registers after a failure.
