  • Patent number: 4408173
Abstract: An electromagnetically operated electric switch combines the function of a contactor and a current-limiting circuit-breaker. The contact assembly of the switch includes two contact systems, which are different in function, with a fixed contact which is common to both systems. The first contact system is intended for normal operating current connections, whereas the other contact system is intended for breaking short-circuit currents. The contact-making elements in the two contact systems can be made of different contact materials, in order to obtain a long electrical and mechanical life.

  • Patent number: 4357509
Abstract: An electric switch, for example a load switch or safety switch for low voltage, has at least one fixed contact member and two movable contact members, which form parallel current paths and which, in the closed position of the electric switch, are pressed against the fixed contact member on opposite sides thereof under the influence of contact pressure springs. Closing and opening are accomplished by means of a wedge-formed element which is displaceable between the movable contact members, said element being arranged on an operating member linearly displaceable between two end positions. The movable contact members are guided in the switch body in such a way that they move perpendicular to the direction of displacement of the operating member. The movable contact members are of elongated cross-section and have defined contact surfaces and break points.

  • Patent number: 4311353
Abstract: For use in a low-voltage switchgear there is provided the combination of a busbar and at least one electrical coupling device for screw connection or plug-in connection to the busbar. The busbar is in the form of a hollow channel section bar, the cross-section of which comprises two outer branches projecting from the same side of a base. Each outer branch has a thickened edge portion along its edge remote from the base, which is provided with an open groove, the bottom of which constitutes a contact surface for said screw connection coupling devices. In its hollow interior, the busbar has contact surfaces for said plug-in coupling devices. Surfaces of the busbar other than said contact surfaces have an electrically insulating coating.
