  • Publication number: 20070082967
Abstract: A radiation curable waterborne composition is disclosed. Said composition comprises at least one amphiphilic dendritic polymer, at least one non-amphiphilic radiation curable oligomer or polymer, water and optionally at least one initiator initiating and/or promoting radiation curing. Said at least one amphiphilic dendritic polymer is build up from a polyhydric dendritic core polymer having terminal hydroxyl groups and at least one carboxylic acid and at least one adduct, obtainable by addition of a monoalkylated polyethylene glycol to a dicarboxylic acid or anhydride, each bonded to at least one terminal hydroxyl group in said polyhydric dendritic core polymer.
    Type: Application
    Filed: November 4, 2004
    Publication date: April 12, 2007
    Applicant: PERSTORP SPECIALTY CHEMICALS AB
    Inventors: David James, Bo Haggman
  • Patent number: 7186771
Abstract: An air drying waterborne resin composition is disclosed. Said resin composition comprises at least one amphiphlic air drying dendritic polymer, at least one non-amphiphilic air drying alkyd resin, at least one drier initiating and/or promoting autoxidation, and water, and optionally at least one anionic and/or nonionic surfactant, and/or at least one coalescent agent. Said at least one amphiphilic air drying dendritic polymer is built up from a polyhydric dendritic core polymer having terminal hydroxyl groups and at least one unsaturated carboxylic acid and at least one adduct, obtainable by addition of a monoalkylated polyethylene glycol to a dicarboxylic acid or anhydride and/or a diisocyanate, each bonded to at least one terminal hydroxyl group in said polyhydric dendritic core polymer.

    Filed: October 16, 2003
Date of Patent: March 6, 2007
    Assignee: Perstorp Specialty Chemicals AB
Inventors: Bo Haggman, Hakan Bjornberg, Birger Midelf, David James
  • Patent number: 7091308
Abstract: A chain extended dendritic polyether comprising a dendritic core polymer and a chain extension bonded to said core polymer, which chain extended dendritic polyether optionally is at least partially chain terminated and/or partially functionalised. The core polymer is a polyhydric dendritic polyether and the chain extension is obtained by addition of at least one alkylene oxide to at least one hydroxyl group in said core polymer.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: January 22, 2003
Date of Patent: August 15, 2006
    Assignee: Perstorp Specialty Chemicals AB

  • Publication number: 20050240000
Abstract: A dendritic macromolecule having the following characteristics (i) an active hydrogen content of a least 3.8 mmoles/g and (ii) an active hydrogen functionality of at least 16 and which macromolecule is mixable at a ratio of at least 15% by weight with a polyether polyol having a hydroxyl value of at most 40 mg KOH/g to form a stable liquid at 23 ° C. The subject dendritic macromolecule confer significant load building properties to isocyanate based foams and elastomers such as polyurethane foams and elastomers and may be used for this purpose to partially or fully displace current relatively expensive chemical systems which are used to confer load building characteristics to such foams and elastomers.
