  • Patent number: 4695576
Abstract: The local anesthetic, L-N-n-propylpipecolic acid-2,6-xylidide, namely: ##STR1## This compound is prepared by chlorinating L-pipecolic acid to yield the acid chloride, namely L-pipecolic acid chloride. The acid chloride is then reacted with 2,6-xylidine to yield L-pipecolic acid-2,6-xylidide. The L-N-pipecolic acid-2,6-xylidide is then propylated to yield the L-N-n-propylpipecolic acid-2,6-xylidide, which is a potent local anesthetic for humans and is of relatively low toxicity.

  • Patent number: 4557935
Abstract: A germicidal composition consists of an aqueous suspension of hydrophilic lipid crystals of 1-monolaurin, and preferably also 1-monomyristin, in a quantity of 20-30 percent by weight, and hydrogen peroxide in a quantity of 0.2-5 percent by weight. The hydrophilic lipid crystals stabilize the hydrogen peroxide, to the effect that the composition retains its germicidal power even after having been stored for a long time. Also, the peroxide disintegrates slowly when the composition has been applied onto skin or mucous membrane.

  • Patent number: 4302465
Abstract: A compound of formula ##STR1## in which m and n are a pair of integers such that m=0 or 1 and n=3-m or m=0, 1 or 2 and n=4-m, R is straight or branched C.sub.2 to C.sub.4 alkyl having a terminal hydroxy group,R.sub.1 is methyl or methoxy,R.sub.2 is methyl or ethyl andR.sub.3 is hydrogen or methyl;or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof is provided, as well as compositions containing these compounds and processes for preparing them. The compounds can be used to produce topical and local anaesthetic effects in mammals and are also useful as heart anti-arrhythmic agents.

  • Patent number: 4282986
Abstract: A method of dispensing fluid or semi-fluid liquids or pastes in which the liquid or paste is contained in a container having a top flexible dome and a bottom dome connected at their open ends to each other. The method comprises pressing the top dome downwardly toward the bottom dome and forcing the top dome into the bottom dome and discharging the liquid or paste from the bottom dome under the action of the forcing of the top dome into the bottom dome. The top dome can be formed with an internal annular bead which is displaced along the inner walls of the bottom dome to scrape off material stuck to the inside walls of the bottom dome.
