  • Patent number: 8360148
Abstract: Example methods, apparatus and articles of manufacture to measure gas reservoir formation pressures are disclosed. A disclosed example method includes positioning a downhole bubble sensor in a wellbore formed in a geological gas reservoir formation, trapping a fluid in a portion of the wellbore including the bubble sensor, pressurizing the trapped fluid, reducing pressurization of the fluid until the bubble sensor detects one or more bubbles in the fluid, recording a pressure of the fluid when the bubble sensor detects the one or more bubbles, and determining a formation pressure of the gas reservoir from the recorded pressure.

  • Patent number: 8244509
Abstract: The invention relates to a method of performing an oilfield operation of an oilfield having at least one wellsite, each wellsite having a wellbore penetrating a subterranean formation for extracting fluid from an underground reservoir therein. The method steps include obtaining a plurality of real-time parameters from a plurality of sensors disposed about the oilfield, wherein the plurality of real-time parameters comprise at least one selected from a group consisting of real-time flow rate data and real-time pressure data of the wellbore, configuring a gridless analytical simulator for simulating the underground reservoir based on the plurality of real-time parameters, generating real-time simulation results of the underground reservoir and the at least one wellsite in real-time using the gridless analytical simulator, and performing the oilfield operation based on the real-time simulation results.

  • Publication number: 20110155369
Abstract: Optimizing reservoir production in a commingled hydraulically fractured reservoir by allocating commingled system production data to each of the individual completed intervals in the system, calculating the reservoir and fracture properties for each completed reservoir layer, and recalibrating the commingled and individual layer production data by accounting for the individual completed interval reservoir and fracture properties.

  • Publication number: 20070108380
Abstract: A method for evaluating an inflow performance for completed intervals in a well includes pulsing neutrons into a fluid flow in the wellbore, detecting gamma rays from decays of nitrogen-16 in the well fluid flow with a first gamma ray detector, determining an in situ water velocity from the measurement of the gamma ray decays, and estimating the inflow performance of one or more competed intervals in the well from data that includes the in situ water velocity.

  • Patent number: 7089167
Abstract: A method for providing production optimization of reservoir completions having a plurality of completed intervals via available production analysis and production logging data provides a quantitative analysis procedure for reservoir and fracture properties of a commingled reservoir system, that includes the steps of measuring pressure for specific zones in a reservoir; selecting a pressure traverse model; computing midzone pressures using the traverse model; comparing the computed midzone pressures with the measured pressures; and modeling the bottomhole pressure of the reservoir based on the traverse model.

  • Publication number: 20020043370
Abstract: A method of and process for fractured well diagnostics for production data analysis for providing production optimization of reservoir completions via available production analysis and production logging data provides a quantitative analysis procedure for reservoir and fracture properties using commingled reservoir production data, production logs and radial flow and fractured interval analyses. This permits the in situ determination of reservoir and fracture properties for permitting proper and optimum stimulation treatment placement and design of the reservoir. The method is a rigorous analysis procedure for multilayer commingled reservoir production performance. Production logging data is used to correctly allocate production to each completed interval and defined reservoir zone. This improves the simulation and completion design and identifies zones to improve stimulation. The method supports computing the individual zone production histories of a commingled multi-layered reservoir.
