Abstract: At a first computer connected to a medical monitoring device, first data are received from the monitoring device repetitively. The first computer is within a first local network, the monitoring device is configured to monitor characteristics of a patient, and the first data represent monitored characteristic(s) of the patient or associated metadata. The first data are sent from the first computer to a second computer via the local area network and a public network. The second computer is outside the first local area network and connected to the public network, and the first data is sent from the first computer to the second computer based on an IP address stored at the first computer. A value of one of the monitored characteristics is determined as within a predetermined range, and a polling frequency for each of the monitored characteristics is set to a common frequency based on that determination.

A center conductor extends through a dielectric support disposed in the bead ring and through the slot. The center conductor forms a coaxial transmission structure in cooperation with the bead ring and the dielectric support, and forms a slab line transmission structure in cooperation with the slot.

Abstract: A directional bridge for measuring propagated signals to and from a source device to a load device where both the source device and load device are in signal communication with the directional bridge is disclosed. The directional bridge may include a first bridge circuit network and a first sensing element in signal communication with the first bridge circuit network. The first sensing element may produce a first measured signal that is proportional to the propagated signals.

Abstract: A smart table to be utilized is disclosed. The smart table includes a patron presence detector, a patron counter, a staff presence detector, and a transmitter. The patron presence detector detects information regarding the presence of patrons sitting at the table. The patron counter counts the number of patrons sitting at the table. The staff presence detector detects information regarding the presence of a staff member serving the table. The above-mentioned detected information are subsequently transmitted by the transmitter to a remotely located data processing system.
