Abstract: Disclosed is a hog scraper paddle for dehairing and polishing hog carcasses and the like, including a resiliently flexible paddle body having a substantially rectangular block shape, said body being made of an easy-to-clean, substantially non-porous thermoplastic material having a softening temperature endotherm peak greater than about 350.degree. F. and a flexular modulus value between about 100 and 150,000 psi preferably either between about 100 and 6,000 or between about 30,000 and 150,000 psi. The paddle body may include a mounting means and openings therein for receiving the mounting means. At least one scraper blade may be attached to the paddle body for dehairing or polishing a carcass. Also disclosed is a method for making a hog scraper paddle of thermoplastic material by injection molding, compression molding, or blow molding. Post manufacturing treatments, such as annealing and heating are also disclosed.

F. and a flexular modulus value between about 100 and 150,000 psi. The paddle body may include a mounting means and openings therein for receiving the mounting means. At least one scraper blade may be attached to the paddle body for dehairing or polishing a carcass. Also disclosed is a method for making a hog scraper paddle of thermoplastic material by injection molding, compression molding, or blow molding.
