    Abstract: The invention relates to a retractable step arrangement for a rail vehicle with a first housing that can be mounted on a body of the rail vehicle and features a first housing opening, with a step that is movably supported in the first housing in an initial position and can be displaced between the initial position and a final position, in which the step at least sectionally protrudes from the first housing, through the first housing opening, and with a drive unit for the step that features a motor and at least one movable connecting means that transmits a motion generated by the motor to the step. The retractable step arrangement provides a separate second housing, in which the drive unit is arranged, wherein the interior of the first housing is spatially separated from the interior of the second housing.

    Abstract: A support system for a linear induction motor (LIM) rail portion that comprises a plurality of support structures that are attachable at a variety of positions along a length of the LIM rail portion. Each support structure comprises a raised portion that defines a platform for receiving a selection of back-iron component thicknesses or types of the LIM rail portion, and first and second fastening flanges that extend outwardly from respective upper sides of the raised portion. The first and second fastening flanges are attachable to a top cap extrusion of the LIM rail portion. Each support structure further comprises first and second supporting flanges each extending outwardly from respective bottom sides of the raised portion for contacting a surface of the guideway to which the LIM rail portion is to be secured and adjusted for height.

    Abstract: An onboard electrical junction box. The onboard electrical junction box comprises an auto-change-over switch adapted to acquire: a first state wherein power is supplied to the electrical system from a power rail via at least one onboard power collector device; and a second state wherein power is supplied to the electrical system from a removable shore power source, wherein during operation in the second state, the at least one onboard power collector device is isolated from the power supplied by the removable shore power source. The onboard electrical junction box also comprises a switch control module in electrical communication with the auto-change-over switch for causing the auto-change-over switch to acquire the second state upon detection that: the removable shore power source has established an electrical connection with the onboard electrical junction box; and the electrical system of the vehicle is receiving power below a predetermined threshold.

    Abstract: A track-bound vehicle converter comprises a block-wave generator (20) configured to be connected to a direct voltage source (21) and connected to a series resonance link (34), or to an inductive link, for providing the input of a direct converter (41) with semi sinusoidal current pulses. The direct converter has at least one phase leg (42-44) having on one hand one switch (45-47) connected to the link (34) and able to block voltages in both directions thereacross and conduct current in both directions therethrough and on the other a capacitor (48-50) connected in series therewith. The voltage across the capacitor (48-50) of the direct converter is used to provide a converter output with an alternating voltage.

    Abstract: A traction/pitching control assembly for attachment to a body portion of a monorail bogie. The monorail bogie is operative for supporting a monorail car over a monorail track that has a running surface and two side surfaces. The assembly comprises a first traction link, a second traction link and a linking member that has a first end portion and a second end portion. The first traction link is attached to the first end portion of the linking member, and the second traction link is attached to the second end portion of the linking member. The assembly further comprises a third traction link and a cross link. The cross link joins the third traction link to the first traction link and the linking member. The first traction link and the second traction link are attached to one of the body portion of the monorail bogie and the monorail car, and the linking member is connected to the other one of the body portion of the monorail bogie and the monorail car.
