  • Publication number: 20200230559
Abstract: An apparatus (100) for mixing a liquid (160) containing particulates (106, 108) comprising: a vessel (102) for containing the liquid (160) that includes a sidewall (120) and a bottom (124); and an impeller (300) rotating about a substantially vertical axis (X-X), said impeller (104): adapted for submerging below the liquid surface (162) by a distance that is approximately one-tenth to one-half of the height of the liquid (129); and include at least two annually spaced apart blades (310) extending radially outwardly of the vertical axis (X-X), the blades (310) comprising back-swept blades that are pitched substantially parallel to the vertical axis (X-X), at least 50% of the length of each blade (310) comprising an angled section (312) extending through a chord angle of 20 to 60 degrees; to produce (a) an inner, upward flow region (164) located along said vertical axis (X-X), (b) a transition flow region (166) located around the impeller (300) in which liquid moves radially outwardly toward the vessel sidewall

  • Publication number: 20190321431
Abstract: A preparation and application of Syzygium zeylanicum L. extract, which is produced by solvent extraction. The extract can reduce ?-glucosidases and ?-amylases after administration in vivo and does not cause side effects, further can control the abnormal performance of blood sugar in diabetic patients after meals.

  • Publication number: 20180371402
Abstract: A medium composition for producing alpha-glucosidase inhibitors fermented from Paenibacillus, comprising chitin as a carbon source, proteome as a nitrogen source, and inorganic salts. Via a fermentation by Paenibacillus, it may be transferred into a medium residue having a large amount of alpha-glucosidase inhibitors. Therefore, the medium composition has the efficiency of inhibiting alpha-glucosidase.

  • Patent number: 10159668
Abstract: A composition for inhibiting ?-glucosidase has lower side effects to a user, other than the inhibition of ?-glucosidase. The composition comprises adenine, (3-hydroxy-dl-proline, nicotinic acid, (3,6-dioxo-piperazin-2-yl)-acetic acid amide, 2-ethylhexyl heptanoate, and a pharmaceutically compatible salt.

  • Patent number: 9850519
Abstract: A method for producing alpha-glucosidase inhibitors utilizing Paenibacillus sp., wherein utilizing a Paenibacillus sp. strain which is deposited at Deutsche Sammlung von Mikroorganismen and Zellkulturen GmbH (DSMZ) and numbered No. DSM 32521 to produce the alpha-glucosidase inhibitors, the Paenibacillus sp. Strain is cultivated in a commercial culture medium or a shrimp/crab residue-contained culture medium, and the alpha-glucosidase inhibitors is separated from a fermented supernatant. The alpha-glucosidase inhibitors have strong inhibitory activity.

  • Patent number: 9488316
Abstract: There is disclosed a device for improving flow of a viscous fluid in a fluid transport conduit, the device comprising: a porous conduit having a passage through which the viscous fluid may pass between upstream and downstream sections of the fluid transport conduit; and a casing member having a wall which extends around the porous conduit, the device being configured such that, when it is in situ, a fluid transfer chamber having at least one fluid inlet is defined between the casing member wall and porous conduit, whereby lubricating fluid may pass under pressure through the inlet(s) into the fluid transfer chamber and through the porous conduit into the passage to lubricate the flow.
