Abstract: A head drum assembly is disclosed which can prevent a magnetic tape from departing from a tape traveling system. The head drum assembly comprises a head drum which records information to a magnetic tape traveling along a defined track or reproduces information recorded on the magnetic tape. A departure preventing member is provided on a top surface of the head drum so as to prevent the magnetic tape from departing from the head drum.

Abstract: A power supply device of a tape-end detecting sensor for a tape recorder. The power supply device comprises a reel cover disposed on a sub-chassis, with a tape-end detecting sensor being seated on the reel cover for detecting the passing of a terminal end of a magnetic portion of a magnetic tape, a first power transmitting member mounted in the reel cover to be connected to the detecting sensor and having a first contacting portion, and a second power transmitting member disposed on the sub-chassis and having a second contacting portion that comes into contact with the first contacting portion when the reel cover is mounted on the sub-chassis. The power supply device further comprises a resilient pressing member integrally formed with the sub-chassis, for resiliently pressing the second contacting portion toward the first contacting portion to improve a contacting force between the first and the second contacting portions.

Abstract: A moving deck plate for a camcorder has a sub-chassis slidably moving with respect to a main chassis. A drum base is integrally formed with the main chassis. A pair of stationary guide rails are integrally protruded from both sides of the drum base. A pair of movable guide rails provided at the sub-chassis are docked to the pair of stationary guide rails to form a moving path, along which a pair of pole bases move to draw a magnetic tape from the tape cassette. One of the stationary guide rails is coupled to the drum base by a first bridge-type reinforcing rib.

Abstract: A driving apparatus for loading/unloading a pair of pole-base assemblies that are reciprocated along a guide rail formed on a main deck to move a magnetic tape to contact to a head drum. The driving apparatus includes a first and a second link member, each connected with one end to each pole-base assembly, a first and a second loading gears, each connected to the other end of the first and the second link member, and being rotated in association with each other; and a main gear which is rotated by the power received from a driving motor mounted on the main deck and selectively engaged with the first loading gear upon rotation thereof. The main gear is rotated in association with one of the loading gears within a desired rotational range upon rotation thereof, so as to transfer power for loading/unloading the pole-base assembly.

Abstract: A magnetic recording and reproducing apparatus and a method for braking a reel assembly comprising a lower disc rotatably supported by a stationary shaft located on the deck and an upper disc arranged on the stationary shaft to rotatably coupled to an upper portion of the lower disc. Thus, the upper and lower discs are rotatably coupled to a tape reel of a tape cassette. A disc gear is positioned between the upper and lower discs to receive power from a capstan motor. A friction member is disposed between and in contact with the lower disc.

Abstract: A head drum assembly and a method for cutting a rotary drum for the head drum assembly are provided. The head drum assembly includes a stationary drum fixed around a shaft, and a rotary drum rotatably mounted around the shaft. A magnetic head unit is mounted to the rotary drum and has a magnetic head. A head distancing groove is formed on a bottom part of the rotary drum in a circumferential direction of the rotary drum to substantially prevent the magnetic head from contacting the rotary drum. At least one head window is connected with the head distancing groove. The magnetic head protrudes out through the head window. Because the head distancing groove is formed in a circumferential direction of the shaft of the rotary drum, the head distancing groove may be processed by lathing. Thus, the number of processes required to form the rotary drum may be reduced, thereby saving manufacturing costs.

Abstract: A magnetic recording and reproducing device for enhancing the operation efficiency by reducing the number of parts and providing an improved structure is provided. The magnetic recording and reproducing device includes a pole base assembly for loading a magnetic tape by guiding the magnetic tape so that the magnetic tape is wound on a head drum and for unloading the magnetic tape by returning the magnetic tape from the head drum; a deck having a guide rail formed thereon, the guide rail including an insertion recess into which the pole base assembly is inserted and a slit connected to the insertion recess to guide the loading and unloading of the pole base assembly; and a deviation preventing unit for preventing the deviation of the pole base assembly inserted into the guide rail.

Abstract: An apparatus and method for compensating a gray-scale CCT in an LCD are provided. In the apparatus, a camera captures an external image, a memory stores the captured image and other image data, and a video processor compensates the correlated color temperature (CCT) of the image received from the camera and the image data read from the memory according to a gray-scale CCT compensation control signal, and outputs a compensated RGB signal. A display receives the compensated RGB signal and displays the image on the LCD according to the RGB colors. A controller controls the video processor by the gray-scale CCT compensation control signal for the image data received from the camera and the memory.

Abstract: A head drum assembly of a magnetic recording and reproducing apparatus includes a fixed drum secured to a shaft and a rotary drum rotatably fitted on the shaft to be opposite to the fixed drum. A motor rotor is supported in the rotary drum. A stator is installed on the fixed drum to be opposite to the motor rotor. A yoke is secured to the fixed drum so that a predetermined air gap is provided between the stator and the yoke.

Abstract: A head drum assembly and method of a magnetic recording/reproducing apparatus are disclosed. In the assembly, for application of a pre-load on the upper and the lower bearings, the upper and the lower bearings are installed in a loosely fitting manner on the shaft. An elastic member for applying a load on an inner ring of either of the upper and the lower bearings is provided so that simplification of the manufacturing process of the head drum assembly, cost reduction, and productivity improvement are achieved.

Abstract: A noise prevention apparatus and a magnetic recording and reproducing apparatus having the same are provided to such that a microphone unit records sound produced from outside the magnetic recording and reproducing apparatus in an optimum state. The noise prevention apparatus includes a noise damping part installed adjacent to at least one noise source that produces a noise when the image and sound signals are recorded and reproduced for damping and discharging the noise produced from the noise source. The noise damping part includes a noise collecting member for collecting the noise and a noise damping member for damping and discharging the noise collected by the noise collecting member to the outside. The noise produced from the noise source when the image and sound signals are recorded and reproduced is collected by the noise collecting member and then damped to a minimum size by the noise damping member, so that the microphone unit may record the sound in the optimum state.

Abstract: A magnetic recording/reading apparatus comprises a head drum disposed on a deck to record or read information on/from a magnetic tape. An FPC fixing member is disposed on the deck to fix an FPC having a signal line to transmit a signal. The apparatus is configured to prevent noise generated between the head drum and the magnetic tape from transmitting to the outside and to a microphone. Thus, quality of recorded sound is improved.

Abstract: A pole base loading apparatus and a main chassis for a magnetic recording/reading device having an improved structure. The pole base loading apparatus includes a pair of pole base units for guiding a tape so that the tape is wound around a head drum as it reciprocates on a main chassis, a pair of loading gears respectively linked to the pole base units and gear-engaged with each other, and a loading unit for rotating the loading gears. At least one of the pair of loading gears has a hook installed therein so that the loading gear is coupled to the main chassis.

Abstract: A lever fixing apparatus of a cassette housing has at least one lever for connecting a cassette holder to a chassis and at least one snap fixing unit for connecting the lever to at least one of the cassette holder and the chassis in a snap manner to hingedly fix the lever thereto. The lever fixing apparatus can fix the lever to the chassis without using additional coupling parts. Accordingly, the number of processes for assembling the cassette holder to the housing bracket can be reduced and the working time is saved, thereby the productivity being increased.

The magnetic recording and/or reading apparatus includes a power transmitting gear. The power transmitting gear has one end coupled to a loading motor and the other end coupled to a plurality of link gears to transmit power from a loading motor to drive components during loading and unloading of a magnetic tape. The power transmitting gear includes a first gear engaged with a motor gear coupled to a shaft of the loading motor. The power transmitting gear also includes a second gear engaged with one of the plurality of link gears and a shaft member coupling the first and second gears. A space is formed inside the shaft member to prevent the shaft member from deforming during manufacture of the shaft member.

A plate spring is positioned between a reel gear and a reel disc of a reel disc assembly which is mounted on a deck of a tape recorder, and a stopper reel is provided on the reel disc to restrain the engaging height of the plate spring so that a torque is generated by the frictional contact between the reel disc and the plate spring, whereby assembly productivity can be enhanced and manufacturing costs can be reduced.

Abstract: Disclosed is an idler for a tape recorder that can selectively transmit a driving force from a capstan motor to a take-up reel or a supply reel depending upon a rotational direction of the capstan motor. The idler includes an idler gear connected to either of the take-up reel and the supply reel, and a gear supporting plate, provided with a ?-shaped portion or U-shaped portion, for rotatably supporting the idle gear. The idler gear is provided with a convex portion or a concave portion formed at both ends of a rotary center thereof, and the gear supporting plate is provided with a convex portion or a concave portion corresponding to the convex portion or concave portion of the idler gear.
