Abstract: A virtual counseling platform for allowing a counselor to provide professional counseling services to a patient comprises a virtual counseling server, a patient application, and a counseling application. During a counseling session, the patient interactively operates the patient application to modify patient avatar data stored on the virtual counseling server such that a patient avatar viewed by the patient and the counselor during the counseling session is altered. The counselor interactively operates the counselor application to modify counselor avatar data stored on the virtual counseling server such that a counselor avatar viewed by the patient and the counselor changes during the counseling session is altered. The counselor application stores counseling session information associated with the counseling session on the virtual counselor server as the counseling session data.

Abstract: Displaying personalized content to content observers by content providers (e.g., advertisers) who disseminate content over a network is disclosed. In particular, enabling the display of targeted content to television viewers is disclosed. Identification of the content observer(s) observing a content display device at a particular time (and/or identification of the content display site) is made, and targeted content for display is selected based on a determination of content appropriate for display to those content observer(s) in accordance with a criterion based on the identity and/or a characteristic of the content observer(s) (and/or the content display site). The attention of each content observer can be sold to the content provider that places the highest value on that content observer's attention. In particular, the value paid by content providers over time can be maximized.

Abstract: A virtual counseling practice. The practice enables a counselor trained to provide counseling to a patient to hold counseling sessions within a virtual reality world. A counseling server, a counseling application, and a counseling database, supplement the patient and counselor session in the virtual world. The counseling application provides communication tools. The communication tools supplement the counseling section through heightening of feelings, emotions, and other patient information during the session.

Abstract: A system and method for providing biosynchronized therapy to a patient that creates a therapeutic environment and therapeutic stimulations that are sensitive to psychological and sensory human issues, including those particular to the patient, and that reduce psychological stress experienced by the patient so that other forms of treatment provided to the patient are enhanced and benefited. In one embodiment, the environment and stimulations can be predetermined. The therapy is applied using an overhead system that includes a suspended, multi-function that performs predetermined tasks and a lighting system, both of which provide the room with natural ambient light, artificial ambient light and predetermined task lighting. An image display system is also included for applying preselected images to the canopy over a bed of the patient. The overhead system can be used in a variety of circumstances such as a home, commercial facilities and health care facilities.
