  • Patent number: 4404032
Abstract: A process for producing cement clinker according to the invention comprises dry grinding of raw components, mixing the resultant raw meal with a solid fuel, pelletizing the resultant batch with the addition of calcium chloride thereto, subsequently heat treatment of the resultant pellets of a raw mix in their dense layer in zones of drying, roasting by burning a fuel over the surface of the layer with drawing fuel combustion products therethrough and removal of exhaust gases released therefrom, and cooling the resultant clinker. According to the invention, the temperature of fuel combustion products over the surface of the dense pellet layer is maintained at 1150.degree.-1250.degree. C. within a portion of the roasting zone extending over a length of maximum one half of the roasting zone length, with subsequent lowering of this temperature to between 900.degree. and 1000.degree. C.

  • Patent number: 4164425
Abstract: Cement is disclosed having the following composition, in percent by weight: 20 to 75% of highly basic calcium chlorosilicate, 10 to 55% of calcium chloro-orthosilicate, 0.5 to 30% of calcium chloroaluminate, 2 to 20% of calcium chloroalumoferrite; cement of the foregoing compositions is produced by calcining at a temperature within the range of from 1,000.degree. to 1,200.degree. C. a raw mixture containing a calcareous component, silicaceous component, aluminous component, ferrous component, magnesium-containing component and calcium chloride in particular proportions, and then grinding the resultant cement clinker. This cement features a reduced heat emission in the initial stage of the hydration process and possesses a high activity. No corrosion of steel reinforcement is observed in concretes produced from the present cement. The cement can be used in heavy-duty concrete structures such as hydropower dams, in the production of high-strength concretes and ferroconcrete structures.

  • Patent number: 4155705
Abstract: Apparatus for treatment and making of construction materials and the like having a rotary kiln. Calcined material from the rotary kiln is reduced in size by driven rolls and delivered as free-flowing material at an upper end region to a vertical shaft kiln having peripheral walls inclined from the vertical no more than 3.degree. and diverging downwardly. A sidewall of the shaft kiln has perforations inclined downwardly for flow of hot gases into the shaft kiln in the general direction of flow of material downwardly in said shaft kiln. The treated material from the shaft kiln is discharged from a lower end region and transported therefrom by a grate system having heaters for heating the treated material thereon.

  • Patent number: 4133693
Abstract: A process for producing cement comprises grinding of a mixture of raw components containing calcium chloride. The resulting raw mixture is subjected to calcination at a temperature within the range of from 1,000 to 1,100.degree. C to produce a clinker which is then crushed at a temperature of from 900 to 1,100.degree. C. The crushed clinker is fractionated at a temperature of from 1,000 to 1,100.degree. C with a stream of the fuel combustion products at the speed thereof of from 6 to 30 m/sec. Two clinker fractions are thus obtained, namely: a fraction with a particle size of from 3 to 20 mm and a fraction with a particle size of from 0.1 to 3 mm. Each fraction is separately desalted at a temperature of from 900 to 1,100.degree. C by way of contacting with a stream of the heating agent comprising the fuel combustion products. The resulting desalted clinker fractions are cooled and ground.
