  • Patent number: 10441969
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for producing a coated aluminum strip, in which the aluminum strip is unwound from a coil and fed into a unilateral or bilateral extrusion coating arrangement, the aluminum strip is extrusion coated with a thermoplastic polymer and after being extrusion coated, the aluminum strip is reheated to a metal temperature above the melting point of the thermoplastic polymer. The object of providing a method for producing an aluminum strip by which an extrusion-coated aluminum strip can be produced which can be processed at high processing speeds in follow-on composite tools is achieved in that the unilateral or bilateral plastics material coating of the aluminum strip is textured, after being reheated, using rolls which have a superficial structure.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: March 24, 2010
Date of Patent: October 15, 2019
    Assignee: Hydro Aluminium Deutschland GmbH
Inventors: Andreas Siemen, Günter Schubert, Boris Kasper, Jochen Schwarz, Antonio Mateo
  • Patent number: 10105748
Abstract: A method for producing a strip consisting of aluminum or an aluminum alloy for packaging purposes, in particular for cans, can lids or can closures, which provides an individualized aluminum strip for packaging purposes, with which decorative or identification elements can be reliably embossed without additional production steps being required, for example at the producer of the packaging means, is achieved in that decorative or other identification elements are embossed into the strip in the last rolling pass of cold rolling and in that the strip thickness is greater in the area of the decorative and identification elements than in the remaining areas of the strip.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: April 17, 2009
Date of Patent: October 23, 2018
    Assignee: Hydro Aluminium Deutschland GmbH
Inventors: Volker Denkmann, Wolf Oetting, Andreas Siemen, Wilhelm Schenkel, Boris Kasper
