  • Publication number: 20220284145
Abstract: A modeling system for a plant system of a power plant is provided. The modeling system enables receiving a selection of one or more pre-engineered sub-modules for a plant system module, wherein each pre-engineered sub-module is configured to be scalable over a defined range both for an entire class product range and each potential power plant configuration, and each pre-engineered sub-module is parametrized within the defined range with a pre-defined parametric relationship. The modeling system enables receiving values for one or more variables for the defined range for the one or more pre-engineered sub-modules. The modeling system enables generating a pre-engineered and parametrized sub-module model for each of the one or more pre-engineered sub-modules based on the values for the variables and generating a plant system module model from the pre-engineered and parametrized sub-module models by assembling the pre-engineered and parametrized sub-module models together according to pre-defined rules.

  • Patent number: 10914199
Abstract: A piping layout for a water steam cycle (WSC) system of a combined cycle power plant is disclosed. The piping layout includes a first steam flow pipe delivering steam from a steam source to a high pressure (HP) segment of the ST system. The first flow pipe includes a first vertically oriented thermal expansion portion. The WSC system may also include a second steam flow pipe delivering steam from the steam source to an intermediate pressure (IP) segment of the ST system. It may also include a third steam flow pipe delivering steam from HP segment of the ST system to a steam source. The vertically oriented thermal expansion portion(s) may be positioned immediately upstream of the admission valve of the respective segment and/or immediately downstream from an outlet of the steam source.

  • Patent number: 10788267
Abstract: A condenser system for steam turbine systems having different loads is disclosed. The condenser system includes a selectively sized outer casing having a variably sized heat exchanger end and an input end for coupling to a steam turbine (ST) system. A condensate vessel sidewall of the casing is positionally uniform relative to the ends regardless of the size of the heat exchanger, and a cooling water sidewall has a position dependent on heat exchanger size.

  • Patent number: 10648369
Abstract: Modular cooling water assemblies for combined cycle power plant systems are disclosed. Each of the assemblies may include a pump and a heat exchanger, both positioned on a support structure. Additionally, each of the assemblies may include a closed cooling water system supported by the support structure. The closed cooling water system may include a return header fluidly coupled to a return conduit for receiving cooling water previously utilized by the combined cycle power plant system. The closed cooling water system may also include a supply header positioned adjacent the return header, and fluidly coupled to a supply conduit for supplying the cooling water to the combined cycle power plant system. Additionally, the closed cooling water system may include a closed cooling water circuit fluidly coupling the return header to the supply header. The closed cooling water circuit may be fluidly coupled to the heat exchanger and the pump.
