  • Publication number: 20150017832
Abstract: The invention relates to an electrical connector for connecting an electrical device to an electrical conductor (3) for powering the electrical device (9) with DC voltage. The electrical connector (1) comprises an arrangement information providing unit for determining arrangement information being information about the arrangement of the electrical connector on the electrical conductor and an indicator (7) for indicating the provided arrangement information Since the arrangement information is provided and indicated, a user like an installer can easily see how the respective electrical connector is arranged on the electrical conductor, in particular, with respect to other electrical connectors. Specifically, if several electrical connectors are present, arrangement information can be provided for the several electrical connectors. This allows the user to easily obtain an overview of components of a DC power distribution system.

  • Publication number: 20150006758
Abstract: The present invention relates to several techniques for managing the contents of proxy tables in ways that optimize performance, latency, and reliability for communication networks, while ensuring a certain number of early-acting proxies per restricted device. An entity is allowed to keep a required number of proxies per resource-restricted device by removing or adding proxy table entries. Furthermore, the entity is allowed to keep track of early-acting proxies based on forwarding strategies, reporting strategies and/or polling strategies. Thereby, proxy table entries can be controlled to optimise overall system performance and reliability characteristics.

  • Publication number: 20140361620
Abstract: The invention relates to an overload detection device (1) for detecting an overload condition in a DC system (5) comprising a DC voltage source (4) and several electrical devices (8, 9, 10) electrically connected to the DC voltage source. The overload detection device comprises an overload detection unit for detecting the overload condition and a reducing unit for reducing the power consumed by an electrical device of the several electrical devices, if the overload detection unit detects the overload condition. Since the overload detection device reduces the power consumed by an electrical device of the several electrical devices, if the overload detection unit detects the overload condition, the overload condition may be removed, without requiring manual intervention. This allows for an improved recovery of the DC system.

  • Patent number: 8441959
Abstract: A method of establishing a wireless multi-hop network where devices establish a physical wireless connection to at least another device of the network in a self-organizing process. In the self-organizing process, a seeking device intending to join the network listens for beacon signals, emitted by candidate parent devices already in the network, that include a network identifier and a device identifier of the emitting devices. Then, in a parent selection process, the seeking device selects a parent device from among the candidate parent devices, according to given selection rules, based on the network identifiers, acceptance capabilities of the candidate parent devices, and link quality parameter values relating the device and the candidate parent devices. In this parent selection process, application-level connection data of the seeking device and/or the candidate parent devices are applied. The seeking device connects physically, and preferably also logically, via the selected parent device to the network.

  • Patent number: 8324826
Abstract: The invention relates to composing a lighting atmosphere from an abstract description for example a lighting atmosphere specified in XML, wherein the lighting atmosphere is generated by several lighting devices, by automatically rendering the desired lighting atmosphere from the abstract description. The abstract description describes the type of light with certain lighting parameters desired at certain semantic locations at certain semantic times. This abstract atmosphere description is automatically transferred to a specific instance of a lighting system (14, 16, 18). The invention has the main advantage that it allows to create light scenes and lighting atmospheres at a high level of abstraction without requiring the definition of a lighting atmosphere or scene by setting the intensity, color, etc. for single lighting units or devices which can be very time consuming and cumbersome, particularly with large and complex lighting systems comprising many lighting devices.
