  • Patent number: 11949845
Abstract: During operation of a machine, an understanding of terrain features is critical. Accordingly, disclosed embodiments augment a video stream, captured by a camera mounted on the machine, with terrain information. In particular, an overlay is generated on at least one image frame. The overlay, which may comprise one or more semi-transparent bands, may cyclically recede from a foreground to a background of the image frame(s), cyclically advance from a background to a foreground of the image frame(s), or cyclically move horizontally across the image frame(s). The overlay may be colorized to illustrate the height of the terrain underneath the overlay.
    Type: Grant

Date of Patent: April 2, 2024
    Assignee: Caterpillar Inc.
Inventors: Craig Allan Lehocky, Michael William Bridenbaugh, Brad Robert Van de Veer, Jeffrey K. Berry, Jeffrey J. Baker

  • Patent number: 10809758
Abstract: A device may include an input for receiving information communicated from a host to the device and a controller configured to recover a device reference clock on the device, the device reference clock proportional to a host reference clock of the host, when clock signaling from the host to the device is unavailable. The controller may recover the device reference clock by measuring a ratio between the host reference clock and the device reference clock of the device by monitoring, with the device, host start-of-frame markers communicated from the host to the device via the input, creating a recovered reference clock based on the measured ratio, and creating local start-of-frame markers that are phase locked with the host start-of-frame markers based on the recovered reference clock.

  • Patent number: 10160016
Abstract: A cleaning system can be used on an intermediate bulk container. The cleaning system includes a chemical tank, filled with a chemical liquid. A first chemical pump and a second chemical pump, are mechanically coupled to the chemical tank and configured to pump the contents of the chemical tank. A dispensing valve is mechanically coupled to the first chemical pump and the second chemical pump and configured to dispense the chemical liquid. A water tank, is filled with water. A first water pump and a second water pump are mechanically coupled to the water tank and configured to dispense the water. A topside washing assembly is attached to the chemical tank and mechanically coupled to the first chemical pump and the second chemical pump. The topside washing assembly disperses water from the water tank in order to clean the chemical tank.

  • Patent number: 9095210
Abstract: An apparatus for supporting a plurality of objects includes a frame and a drum rotatably attached to the frame so that the drum is rotatable about a horizontal axis. The drum has two ends. The drum includes a plurality of bays, each bay configured to receive one or more objects through an opening in an end of the drum, each bay comprising at least one support element positioned to prevent the one or more objects received within the respective bay from falling out of the respective bay as the drum rotates about the horizontal axis. A method of using a cart for supporting a plurality of objects includes inserting a first object into a first compartment at a first position; rotating the drum about a horizontal axis to move a second compartment to the first position; and inserting a second object into the second compartment.
