  • Patent number: 10596511
Abstract: A modular valve cartridge for a regenerative air dryer including a housing having a dry air passage and a desiccant canister having a desiccant bed. The modular valve cartridge includes a cylindrical body having an air passage extending axially there through between a first opening and second opening, a first end of the cylindrical body, including the first opening, to releasably couple to the housing to place the cartridge air passage in communication with the dry air passage via the first opening, and a second end of the cylindrical body, including the second opening, to releasably couple to the desiccant canister to place the cartridge air passage in communication with the desiccant bed via the second opening. A check valve is disposed within the cartridge air passage, the check valve biased to be in a normally closed position to close the cartridge air passage and to open the cartridge air passage in response to receiving a pressurized air via the second opening.

  • Patent number: 9724636
Abstract: A regenerative air dryer system including a plurality of air dryer modules, wherein air dryer modules of the plurality of air dryer modules have different air flow rates. A controller selectively operates different combinations of air dryer modules of the plurality of air dryer modules so that a selected combination of air dryer modules has a combined air flow rate based on system air flow requirements.

  • Patent number: 8999045
Abstract: A regenerative air drying system including at least one dryer module including a housing having a inlet air passage, an outlet air passage, and a wash air passage. The air dryer system further includes a desiccant canister mounted to the housing and in communication with the inlet, outlet, and exhaust air passages, and a single controllable valve selectively moveable between a first position and a second position, wherein the single controllable valve, when in the first position, forms a supply air flow path from the inlet air passage, through the desiccant canister in a first direction, and to the outlet air passage, and when in the second position, forms a wash air path from the outlet air passage, through the desiccant canister in a direction opposite the first direction, and to the exhaust air passage.

  • Patent number: 8378842
Abstract: A downhole tool string component has a through-bore intermediate first and second tool joints adapted for connection to adjacent tool string components. A blind-hole is formed in an outer surface of the component. A processing unit is also disposed within an outer surface of the component. An electrical device that is disposed within the component is in communication with the processing unit through an electrically or optically conductive medium which has a self-aligning pattern.

  • Patent number: 8237584
Abstract: In one aspect of the present invention, a method for tool string communication comprises the steps of providing a downhole tool string with at least two downhole LWD/MWD instruments in electrical communication with a downhole telemetry system. The instruments are capable of generating at least one data packet assigned a priority. The tool string is deployed in a wellbore and then the priority of the data packet is changed.
