  • Patent number: 9766479
Abstract: 3D glasses including features for an enhanced viewing experience with lower production and operating costs for theaters. Keyed lenses and removable temples facilitate assembly and field repairs. Specific angles of lens placement and the provision of specific anti-reflective areas on the frames enhance the quality of the optical path content being viewed. RFID and radio chips increase accountability and collection of use statistics. Smooth areas enhance cleaning and lower the time and material costs for between use cleanings.

  • Publication number: 20170118460
Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for displaying three-dimensional image data on a display having a light source modulation layer and a display modulation layer. The light source modulation layer has light sources for providing spatially modulated, spectrally separated light for displaying time-multiplexed left and right eye images. The display modulation layer has pixels for spatially modulating the amount of light received from the light source modulation layer.

  • Patent number: 9622010
Abstract: Embodiments are directed to an interconnect for coupling components in an object-based rendering system comprising: a first network channel coupling a renderer to an array of individually addressable drivers projecting sound in a listening environment and transmitting audio signals and control data from the renderer to the array, and a second network channel coupling a microphone placed in the listening environment to a calibration component of the renderer and transmitting calibration control signals for acoustic information generated by the microphone to the calibration component. The interconnect is suitable for use in a system for rendering spatial audio content comprising channel-based and object-based audio components.

  • Publication number: 20160327804
Abstract: A speckle damping system for dampening speckle on a projection screen for a projection display system employing coherent or partially coherent light sources (e.g., lasers, LEDs) are disclosed. In one embodiment, a rotatably coupled system is disclosed, comprising: a set of actuators; a set of rotatably coupled mounts, each of said set of rotatably coupled mount capable of mounting at least one said actuator; and wherein said at least one actuator mounted on said rotatably coupled mount is in moveable mechanical communication with said projection screen. In another embodiment, a linearly coupled system is disclosed comprising: a set of actuators; a set of linearly coupled mounts, each of said set of linearly coupled mount capable of mounting at least one said actuator; and wherein said at least one actuator mounted on said linearly coupled mount is in moveable mechanical communication with said projection screen.

  • Patent number: 9324250
Abstract: Several embodiments of display systems are disclosed that comprise a backlight source, a first modulator, a second modulator and a controller. The backlight source may further comprise an edge-lit backlighting source that may be controlled to affect a field-sequential illumination for the dual or multiple modulator display system. In another embodiment, the display system may comprise two or more color primary emitters that each comprise a color gamut. When the color gamuts are driven in a field sequential pattern, the resulting overall gamut is substantially wider. Other display systems and methods are disclosed herein that affect a variety of 3D viewing embodiments. Systems, methods and techniques to increase the dynamic range, color gamut and bit precision of display systems comprising MEMS and/or IMODs are presented.
